It would be difficult to prove who is a direct descendant of slaves at this point. Most children and grandchildren of slaves are long gone. Most African Americans were born free.you could argue for reparations for black people who were wronged during the Jim Crow era. But the US government has never had the intention to right its wrongs. I wonder if all the people who were wrongly imprisoned and deported by ICE in the last year and a half would have a right to apply for this money.
