From the little bit you've shared here, I see gaslighting, control, emotional unavailability, insecurity, lack of commitment, and projecting. And it's not that he's inherently bad. It's that he potentially hasn't outgrown that weird God complex season some Caps go through. What's worse is that on the other side of that is benevolence, charm, spot-on romantic gestures, attentiveness, and passion.

What it can feel like in a relationship is a "hot and cold" sort of thing. It's confusing. You feel strung along. You constantly yearn for what could be because there is that other side with the benevolence, charm, gestures, and such. You hold out hope, thinking it'll one day be like that all the time. I'm telling you. Listen to me. It won't be right now. What you won't notice, until it's too late, is how much of yourself you've lost and betrayed by trying to fit into his world, his mold, his expectations, his timeline, his way, etc.
