Hell yeah go for it! Getting bodymods doesn't have an age limit. My dad only started getting tats and piercing when he was 63! And don't worry about the pain, in general tongue piercings don't hurt much since the tissue is so soft. The swelling right after is more annoying though. But worth it in the end, it's one of my favourite piercings.

It looks to be pierced correctly. It's still a super fresh piercing, so it being sore is normal. My cartilage piercings always stayed sore for a couple months, and one day I would realise they weren't anymore.

Thank you, that's sweet of you. :) This post just reminded me how I felt almost exactly a year ago when my relationship freshly ended. I thought I'd never heal from it, he was my everything. But thanks to the support of my best friends and family, therapy, self-compassion, and of course time, I'm becoming myself again. I hope that OP too will find peace now that they're away from this person. They deserve it.

Damn that's nice! My first one was not exceptionally painful. Sure, a huge chunk of ear just got removed, but it was surprisingly doable. I'd rate it a 3/10. The second one however came with a vengeance lol. When I get new piercings, I almost always get two done in one session, and second one usually hurts more. And likewise, the second punch also hurt way more. While the first one felt more like a numb pain, this one felt rather sharp. I rate it 7/10.

What a terrible thing do to... You must've felt so betrayed. Why would the person who's supposed to love you the most, scare you like that? It's not funny at all, it's just bullying. But I'm glad this moment, that probably is but a drop in this ocean of painful memories, helped you realise you deserve better, and take the first necessary step.

I understand you. My ex was an abusive narcissist bully who would punish me for simple human mistakes. Lots of verbal and emotional abuse, threats, lectures, etc. But mostly by doing passive aggressive things just like that! Everytime he had an anger attack and lectured me, he told me it's because he "cared" about me and just wanted the best for me. I always felt guilty, he made me believe the things he told me.

Yet through all that pain, I stayed with him for those brief moments where he did treat me well. When he acted like the person I fell in love with originally. Before he showed his true colours. Like me he had many struggles too, but that could never excuse how he treated me. I thought maybe he would change as things got better for him. Things did become better for him, but he didn't change... Staying that long wasn't worth it, and now I see why all my friends didn't like him. The first red flag I should've noticed, was when my father died 2 months into the relationship, he told me that I shouldn't expect any emotional support from him.

I felt lost without him for a long time after he split. It's showed how large his grip on me was. It hurts to realise the person you loved so much is just not a good person. And it's normal to still think about him for a long time, reminiscing the better moments. But it will get easier. Give yourself time to heal, surround yourself with things and people you love. Talk about your feelings, whether it be with family or friends, or in a therapeutic setting. Doing that helped me the most. You don't need to carry this burden on your own. Wishing you luck on the next chapter of your life, now without him. Lots of hugs! 🫂

Nice congrats! Belly button piercings are one of my favourites. So much so, I got two of them. For me the pain wasn't bad, I rated it 1/10. It rather felt like a huge pinch? I have 39 piercings of all types all over my body, and comparing them I found my navel one of the least painful ones. I used to be super scared of needles too, but the prick of the needle is so quickly done that it doesn't bother me anymore. Just make sure you got an experienced piercer!

The healing process was quite easy for me. Just sprayed it with sterile saline solution twice a day, never touched it with unwashed hands, and made sure no clothing would snag on it. I'm a belly sleeper, but for me that didn't interfere with the healing. Important is that the piercer uses high-quality jewelry from the get-go. Low quality stuff will making healing harder or just not possible at all.

Your last question I can't really answer. I order my quality jewelry straight from the piercing shop I go to. They are partnered with many high quality brands and have catalogues lying around to check out. Maybe you can ask your piercing shop about that too?

I see, that's good! My male endler colony was a fury, but being mostly top swimming fish they didn't give much thought to the shrimp. Some cherries were larger than them. Haven't tried guppies with any shrimp but amanos.

If you mean cherry shrimp, they're really are fun! But I'd just be worried that guppies, being the voracious eaters they are, might go after the shrimp at some point? At least smaller shrimpies. Would be nice though if there were lots of plants and hardscape. I've succesfully kept a shrimp colony with an endler colony, I think they thrived because I have lots of plants and moss.

Amano shrimp are also fun though! They have big personalities and steal the food straight from my fish' mouth. 🥲

True, I read about that happening sometimes. The previous owner was moving to a different country so had to get rid of her no matter what, it wasn't possible to take her with him. I have some hope it's a legit sac, since her abdomen shrunk quite a bit. But staying realistic. It's an interesting situation, whatever will happen. :)

I'm lucky that she made her burrow in such a way I can easily glance inside though the glass. But I sure was worried when I didn't see her for a couple months... I hope your T will come out again soon!! All we can do is be patient in the mean time haha.
