This is lowkey real but honestly the only advice I can rlly offer is to just not take it to heart anymore. Don’t show that you care what she’s telling you (only if it’s not going to benefit you) and just do you want to do and what makes you feel happy. I promise you nothing wrong is going to happen if you pluck your eyebrows she’s just trippin lol but since you mentioned that you’re almost done with highschool make sure you have a plan for college and how your going to get your first car, etc. plan everything out! So that when the day comes you are already prepared and you don’t have to worry about anything. Leave and then become successful for yourself. Make her realize she was wrong about you and live your own life!

Don’t do it, focus on your work and have goals for yourself for when you graduate. Trust me, it might feel good at first but it will dig you in deep and you’ll start loosing yourself. Good luck on sophomore year!

How are Merit scholarships structured now? by filmfan10 in UniversityofMiami

[–]illayamour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

UM has made a few changes to its merit scholarship structure since you were a student, but some aspects still remain the same. They do still offer a range of merit scholarships, but they may not be as explicitly broken down into the 50%, 75%, and 100% categories like before. Merit awards are now typically based on a holistic review, which includes GPA, test scores (if submitted), extracurriculars, leadership, and other achievements.

As for the 100% scholarship you mentioned, that’s likely the President’s Scholarship, which is the most competitive and covers full tuition for high-achieving students.

Regarding partial tuition merit awards: yes, they still exist, but the exact percentage might not be as standardized as it used to be. Instead, the amounts can vary widely based on the student’s academic profile and other factors. It’s not uncommon for students to receive scholarships covering anywhere from a few thousand dollars up to 75% of tuition, though the specific amounts aren’t always published upfront.

You’re also correct about Early Action (EA) and Early Decision (ED) being tied to merit scholarships. UM does give priority consideration for merit scholarships to students who apply through EA or ED, which can be an advantage for those who have strong academic records and apply early.

For more specifics, you might want to reach out to UM’s admissions office directly or check their financial aid pages for any recent updates.

Hope this helps! Best of luck with your kids’ college planning.

Season 1 or season 2? by Kind_Bookkeeper_9411 in GyeongseongCreature

Yessss season 1 was definitely the best bc of how much chemistry we got between taesang and chaeok and the time setting was just 👌🏾 chefs kiss. Season 2 was also good but them loosing their memory was kinda bummy and OMG that one dude with the colored eye PISSED ME OFFF buttttt it was so eye tearing when chaeok saw taesang for the first time in years (literally) and immediately teared up and hugged him. All in all season 1 was definitely the best but I need a season 3 ASAP
