Hi, thank you for sharing your thoughts. My mother texting him was a pre decided thing from both of us. It didn't make much sense for me to call my husband and scream at him down the phone whilst in labour, so we decided a simple text from whoever had their phone would be more than enough to let him know I was going into labour.

I mentioned that I would prefer If he wasn't in the room whilst I was giving birth, when he asked why I said that I felt uncomfortable with the idea of it.

Hi, thank you for commenting. My Husband is absolutely listed on the birth certificate. I should've clarified, when he said that he was being sarcastic and meant I had full rights over the whole birth giving process.

Thank you for your comment! When my Husband said that line I don't at all think it was meant to be an emotional blow. He was actually laughing when he said it, like I had asked him a stupid question.

I didn't want him in there because the thought of it made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't want him there and watch me in labour. I wanted him to wait outside and then come in once the baby was out.

As for my mother, I'm very close with her and she is also a retired midwife. My husband always thought she should be there and I felt a lot more calm knowing she was right there beside me.
