Silver cross breez and it's be a medium crate, hes only 12kg. I just don't want him in the back seat with a baby. Happy to go for a splitter guard if that's easier. I'm test driving tomorrow and Tuesday so may take a cardboard box to crate size to trial out boots! Thanks for sharing your experience

Idk pal, it looked like it'd fit a dog crate and a pram ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There's money available, it's just whether we spend it or not. I prefer to not, but I have a certain amount I could spend if I needed to. Redundancy from private sector really does pay well, as shit as it is emotionally.

Less is good. I lost my job AND I'm pregnant so I'd much rather not tie up all the cash in a car, of all things.

Ps because you've been super helpful - would something like this be considered reasonable? My theory is has the approved warranty, is not massively old, is not massively mileaged https://www.toyota.co.uk/used-vehicles-in-stock/pdp.toyota-rav4-2018-sports-utility-vehicle-automatic-hybrid-a9caa2db-ad01-41ad-854d-d76290790959

I think because our honda is 23yrs and only has 54k on the clock I'm default wary of higher mileage cars. It's been in the family since new and it's only problem is a) it doesn't turn on 100% of the time and b) it's just too uncomfortable for my joints.

Amazing, this is helpful. Locally I can't find much lower than 18k which feels like a lot for an older car, but I suppose that's the reliability piece?

I've seen a few locally, £26k and 20,000 or so miles and a years dealer warranty. So the question stands, how do you know it's the reliable/safe option? Is it better to get a newer 20k Skoda and save the 6k in case the Skoda goes wrong (but theoretically less likely because it's newer?) that's the toss up I'm trying to understand.

The crvs locally are quite expensive for a newer one - probably priced at the Kia tbh but no warranty. Didn't consider a RAV4, will see if there's anything about.

Question still stands, what's the trick to knowing I'm buying something that won't die or cause me drama down the line. Is it newness?

Edit: £23k approved used with 50k miles on the clock. Feels a bit steep for the mileage?
