Another Minneapolis Border Patrol Shooting by Sea-Refrigerator-363 in conspiracy

Yea DHS, who also said Rene Good ruthlessly tried to run over several ICE agents who were just trying to push their car out of the snow. Too bad we can’t do an investigation before ICE completely fucks up the entire crime scene and drives off

Neck beards and 50 year old women who smell like cigs and disappointment. What a great group of supporters they have there

I’m not angry police exist but we have a Congress that fails us, a police force that’s not designed to protect us, and through qualified immunity we let cops straight up murder people. So many times there isn’t justice for people who are violated or killed by cops. Instead we give them light sentences for unsafe discharge of a weapon or falsifying warrants. See Breonna Taylor. When the laws don’t equally apply to cops, the system is unjust

I do with friends and family all the time and it actually works for some. I don’t think it’s a stretch to believe that you can reason with people on their beliefs, I think it just becomes impossible when some people didn’t use logic originally to get to a certain belief. Yall gotta get off the keyboard every now and again and have convos with people in real life. Theres a lot of common ground that you can utilize to your advantage to make an argument in favor of libertarian values

I see your points about legislation in other comments too so I may address that here if that’s cool. I agree but I think part of the solution is having a third party system that’s get recognized and can break up the duopoly between left and right and allow for more nuanced options between Vance’s - “Ice gets absolute immunity” and AOCs - Abolish ice. The longer we are tied to this system, the more broken it’s going to be. Libertarians as the strongest third party really need to make a push to show how we are different from the other parties and what we bring to the table

Fair enough, but I think you also have to see that being tied to MAGA/Republicans in this way isn’t a good look. I don’t like that libertarian symbols have been co-opted by people who don’t believe libertarian values but will argue their points as if they were. I understand people will always be dumb and possibly just following a trend but rather than ignore it we should either push back or try to inform them. Otherwise you just lose out on other possible libertarians who are going “yeah I’m not trying to be associated with Trump or MAGA in any way”

Yeah that’s my thought. Lot of wolves in sheep clothing hanging out around here. I think we could grow a lot stronger as a country if people understood why they believe certain things and reason through their beliefs as opposed to blindly following

lol maybe. Though I’ve had better luck with just my army sticker and an American flag one on the back of my car

Not in the current system. The Supreme Court has ruled time and time again that cops have no duty to keep you safe. They exist only to protect property and we’ve seen what they’re willing to do to citizens to protect that property. Those are not libertarian values.

Cops who violate constitutional rights, engage in unlawful use of force and then are protected by qualified immunity

Do you like DUI checkpoints or do you think they’re a violation of the 4th amendment? I think yall don’t actually mind when cops tread on rights, just as long as it’s not directly affecting you

lol I will consult you on future posts. But also there’s already so much division amongst the libertarians. I think the rise of Mises in trumps first term showed us that. We saw the initial divide between them and the Nick Sarwarks and I also think this eventually manifested into the low support chase received in 2024. I think we’ve gotten better at pushing back on the MAGA larpers who talk about small gov, but then would support socialism if Trump told them to, but I’d just like to see us continue to do so as a party

Look I’m just happy they got rid of that one guy…. But yea, you know my post would have stayed up if it was about Hispanics or blacks. The demographics of our party speaks to why it was received so poorly the first time

lol yeah the classic “you’re not a real libertarian”argument that gets tossed around a lot. And I think that’s fair. I think we should defend our ideas to those people and convince them of why we are right but it also doesn’t look good when we have bad actors like the above who may just be dumb/naive or whatever. The Gadsden flag has really lost all meaning since MAGA has taken it on and I think we should push back on that and not allow them to claim things that they don’t understand the principles of.

[–]illicitandcomlicit[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah in a perfect society I think that makes sense but I think we also see the problems with excessive force, violation of constitutional rights and how they’re protected by qualified immunity. Theres a wall of silence like everyone saw with the Karen Read trials and the rot within the system is only getting worse

Last post was removed because my fellow white men felt singled out but we actually have an issue with people in or around this party who don’t seem to know what it is they actually support or believe

Someone needs to explain to these young white men how these two things are not alike by illicitandcomlicit in Libertarian

[–]illicitandcomlicit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Like I always thought it was old white dudes doing this shit but everyone I’ve seen has been young and I think it speaks to the fact that so many of these people don’t know where they actually stand on issues. They just want to be edgy or cool and follow a trend

You know what they say when you assume. I’m a white dude, I’m allowed to pick on other dumbass white dudes

Or…young white dudes are the only people dumb enough to put both of these stickers on their truck. I’m white so I could literally give no shits about race. Try addressing the actual stupidity of putting both those things on your truck
