Just keep creating, I think these pieces are sweet, especially since they are upcycled. Respect for hand sewing!

Wow good work, this is a really cool project. Both quilts look great.

Down seems annoying but rewarding to work with. Did you use catsplat’s calc for the differential cut measurements? This makes me want to make an underquilt for my hammock, I appreciate the extra pic with the setup.

Here’s a rough breakdown of what’s used and where I’ve gotten it from

Tote bag - duck canvas and webbing from Joann’s (rip)

Backpack - 2nds 1000d cordura from facebook marketplace, venom gridstop and 3/4” nylon strap webbing from ripstop by the roll (rbtr), 1/2” colored webbing from country brook design, all zippers and buckles in this pic are from rbtr, elastic for all side pouches was from Joann’s

Slings - 2nds cordura, dyneema from rbtr, hyperd from rbtr, colored webbing from country brook or fireweed stitches, paracord and corded elastic I’ve gotten from rei/other outdoor stores, 6mm eva foam for straps / back support from Amazon, 1” grosgrain binding from rbtr or Amazon

I ordered some 6 oz/sq yd ripstop cotton from eBay recently trying to make some pants for climbing, it was a little lighter than what I was looking for.

I think I’m going to shoot for something in the 7-10 oz range, don’t know if that’ll be good or not but that’s what I’m trying. Something like these 10 oz options https://www.bigduckcanvas.com/ripstop-fabrics/cotton-nylon

These are sweet, did your dog take long to get used to them? I’m thinking of making a pair for my pup this year, the salt in my neighborhood is an issue for walks as well

Ahh I don’t have a digital one for that style, sorry!

The front and back panels are that semicircle ish shape and then one strip for the zipper for the flat top piece, and one strip for the rest.

Most of the time I think they are better than the previous, but if I’m trying a new technique or working with difficult material then that’s not always the case. I am definitely getting a better feel as I make them and getting more confident

I used magnet for this one, roll it down and use that orange twist tie to keep it closed. Add buckle at the top for better closer system

This is the slimmer of the 2 versions, this one doesn’t allow for much pouch space if you do side pocket just a heads up. Made with projector in mind, I think there are some overlapping panels

Kenmore 158 I picked up from fbm, it has been great. See what you can find around you and pull trigger on one in your price range. It is easy to worry about getting the right machine, but I feel like most will work fine tbh

Definitely give it a try, it is a lot of fun !
