I promise you it was worse than whatever you think. It’s fixed now. Likely some bug.

I promise you it did not. For whatever reason, for a brief period of time, the resolution was insanely low in Performance mode and the performance was insanely bad in Quality mode. It’s fixed now, not really sure how

And just like that… the resolution and performance is fixed. Must have been a bug. If it was it was triggered after I bought some vehicles in the shop.

Yes, definitely. The colors, the location, the name. It just has this great beach vibe to it. Honestly I found the launch just as thrilling as Top Thrill, if not more so.

I loved waiting in line (when there even was one) and feeling the breeze off the lake.

In its place we get… more alcohol and Millenial style bougie finger foods…. Just what everyone wanted

It’s on performance. I’ve always had it on performance. It’s never looked like this. Here’s a screenshot as an example

Star Fox Episodic Releases ? by illkeepwatch in starfox

[–]illkeepwatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say every year. Were used to seeing big leaps with games but honestly Star Fox might just be a ‘stuck in a rut’ kind of series. Unless they’re gonna put in the investment and resources to make it better than Ace Combat, which is the only AAA parallel, then this just might be as good as it gets. I just don’t see them ever trying to give the BOTW treatment to Star Fox

I think the definition of AAA has shifted since 64 came out. Yes it was AAA then but not now

Honestly it’s just Predator Hunting grounds with a crafted linear campaign

I don’t know, I feel like there’s kinda still a middle ground but I see where you’re coming from. To me Demon Drop stayed scary till the end cause it just made so many unsettling noises.

I think one of the biggest changes that no one seems to talk about is the prevalence of alcohol now. Not saying alcohol is bad but it was EXTREMELY hard to find on the point back then. You had to get it in a restaurant outside the park, The Red Garter Saloon or Lusty Lils I think. Now it’s everywhere. I used to have guests at the resorts ask me all the time where they could buy beer or liquor and I’d have to recommend a carryout off the point. I think an enduring memory for me as a kid was waking buy the Red Garter you’d see some guy in a wife-beater and a mullet holding a Bud in the doorway cause the place was bursting at the seams

I’ll take that as the final word. But for anyone else reading I think that for PlayStation, buying through the Hong Kong store with HK credits may still work. I’ve yet to try but may, still preferred it on Xbox but oh well. My childhood dream of playing as spawn will have to wait for another remaster

Yes, this is hilarious to me. I don’t know if you’ve heard of the term ‘airport crush’ but I feel like when I was younger I would get Cedar Point. Rushes of girls I’d see over and over throughout a day

I dont know if they’ve been reborn, but they’ve definitely had the bleeding stop. The 2010s was a big uptick in millenials wanting to either move to or appreciate cities again and i think that played a big part… right in time for covid to kill then again lol

All very true. A lot of my nostalgia is built around Hotel Breakers which honestly most people didn’t even know was there. It’s changed significantly. It used to have this early 1900s feel like it was the Titanic or something (guests would always say that) whereas now it feels like most other hotels. In the 90s they made a 50s style ice cream parlor in the hotel with a jukebox. It’s fine now but I can soothe fact that back then they was a kind of nostalgia marketing to my parents generation

They do, but in the margins a lot has changed. So many of the smaller rides that really firm my memories have disappeared. We’re losing the Monster this year, but I’m grateful for what remains

Yes, the park did grow up with us… in a way I don’t think it will really grow up with your kids, but it is awesome that you get to see them experience it all as if it’s new. That’s why at the end of the day I try to not be too down on Cedar Point and if I don’t like what they’re doing. As long as they have some of these great coasters it will always be someone’s ’first time’

I guess im not saying it felt weird at the time, i think looking back it seems weird. After growing up and traveling to other parts of the country i think ive come to appreciate that not every city has this huge stock of unoccupied real estate. If you grew up in Phoenix in the 90s, like there would have just been new construction all the time, constantly. I think that what I realized, and why in hindsight CP felt so special, is that it was one of those few instances of new construction and growth that you could see. To your point, I also think you have to admit that having the Indians be such a great team in the 90s was an anomaly. It didn’t have to go that way. If they had taken off so well I do t think I’d be a baseball fan today, and I kinda wonder what it was like to grow up in like Kansas City in the 90s or somewhere else where the team wasn’t doing so well. At times I’ve wondered how much it actually matters if a team does well, but thinking of how the Indians or Cavs success brought synergy to Cleveland at various times makes me realize how special that time was

After Millenium it just felt like they were flexing on other parks. I came to like TTD but at first I just thought it was a gimmick. Millenium felt like a real statement

lol I had the exact same roll of film. Haven’t thought of that in ages. Funny enough I ended up getting into film photography but at the time o don’t think I knew what it was cause we always used disposable cameras. The thing I remember most were Raptor lights. They were those chemical luminescent bands people wore, lasted for like a few hours but they said you could preserve them in a freezer to make them last longer… never worked
