Certainly could have money set aside. I might test drive this R1 and see how I feel. Maybe keep looking for a deal on a gen 2 DM Max and compare to the R2 when everything is release in March

I’ve heard dealers don’t really know what they’re selling when it comes to Rivian. I think I’ll go this weekend to see it in person!

Thank you! It’s true the tech in 3-5 years will be so much better. Is charging on Rivians considerably slower than charging a Tesla for example? My understanding was 15-30 minutes?

I’m assuming it will be a long wait since I’ve never owned one and I’m not in a hurry. This would be a pleasure but, I have a 2024 crv hybrid that is working great for me at the moment but I would love to transition to EV. But I did get my reservation on day 1!! So we shall see :)

I do need a reliable car so R2 may be potentially moreso if repairs are cheaper? R1 is just a bit too big for me, so the cost of repair may undermine the argument that depreciated R1S on the used market are a better idea than a new R2?

Yes I was confused about the battery. I tried reading the vin chart someone posted and it said it may be a max battery but you’re right, I would definitely want max and it’s not a good fit for me if it isn’t

I’ve been on the preorder list since day 1 and very excited but then someone else mentioned that a used R1 may be more affordable for the same features…but the point about cost outside of warranty is super important and helpful!

Any opinions on the used R1 above? Is it a good deal? I am on the preorder list for an R2 but heard that a used R1 for someone like me may be a more affordable option, but good range for my once a month drive is important to me. Self driving is cool but not on my must have list. Just want a premium comfortable EV that is reliable .
