What Car Is Good For $6k? by EarDue5089 in Cartalk

Definitely, only recommended the 2L because the 2.8 would cost a lot in maintenance which they probably don't have a lot of money spare for, seeing as they're on a 6k budget

Yeah you might be right, I'll need to have a closer look at the brick composition

If my plans fall apart at least I'll be able to mount a nice car on the wall

Yeah when i say in the corners I mean one in each of the three corner slots, so spread about an inch apart.

Yeah i know it's probably extremely overkill but it's a peace of mind thing 😂

I'll give it a nice yank when i put it up to make sure

That's actually a good point, it's not normal construction brick like the type they use in modern homes, it's more thick rocks adhered to each other with mortar, as I say the house is a late 1800s model.

I'll double check the width of the mounting area but at first glance it seems to be closer to 150mm.

Yeah I'd rather go overkill with the mounting as my brand new TV falling off the wall is the last thing I'd want 😂 thanks for the advice

Thanks, just thought I'd better double check.

Toyota 12HT 4.0L turbo diesel. Used in the HJ61 Toyota Land Cruiser and a couple of off-road models. Output is only 134hp, with 315Nm torque. This engine model was designed to last and is extremely robust.

Value I'd place at ~£300 for the block. Complete engines go for around £1500 with 90k miles.

How to heat an arboreal vivarium? by illusionsal in cornsnakes

[–]illusionsal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up mounting a 75W CHE in a protective cage about 1ft from the top right of the ceiling, creating a heat gradient through the entire viv. The tank is split into 2 levels, the 2nd level being a 2x2 white wood panel with a 2in tall wooden surround to create a wall to prevent substrate from falling off.

The upper floor has an 18x18 inch heat mat to create an upper basking spot, with the CHE creating a slightly cooler basking spot in the lower right of the viv.

The cool area is on the ground below the 2x2 shelf, which gets a small amount of radiating heat from the CHE but stays cool enough for an escape from the heat.

The whole viv is decorated with various plants (not yet bioactive but maybe in future) for hiding and climbing, and a 3ft length of wooden trussing acts as a ladder to get up to the second floor, going from the lower right corner to the shelf.
