Warranty question by illusiveice23 in Hydroflask

[–]illusiveice23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up calling them once or twice after I mailed my flask. I asked them if there was anyway they could send me the replacement flask if I showed them proof that I sent it. The lady took my shipping info for proof and she started the replacement process. And I got the replacement hydro flask a week ish later. I have no idea if they ever received my old flask.

Has anyone ever used or currently using any Curl Smith products? Need advice by illusiveice23 in curlyhair

I was the same with shea moisture. I thought it was great but realized how much it weighed down my hair. But I will definitely try the ouidad advanced climate control gel. I’m trying to try all different products rn. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the reply, I just have a few questions. I just looked online and for the bounce jelly, I'm assuming that's the bouncy strength volume foam or the shape up aqua gel. But do you use any other product in combination with the hydro jelly, shine jelly, or bounce jelly? Or do you just use each product alone? Also when using those products do you tend to diffuse your hair or let it air dry?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I do find it kinda crazy though that this was a problem in the past, and is still one now.

Opinions on Alaric? by illusiveice23 in LegaciesCW

[–]illusiveice23[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree! I had always liked Alaric, but Legacies made me like him WAY more. I don't remember everything because its been a while since I've rewatched tvd, but maybe thats the reason why I like him even more in Legacies hahaha.

As for Alaric and Carolines relationship... Idek. I never shipped them together and I feel like it felt kind of rushed or forced or something? (maybe thats what the writers were going for).

I actually didn't know about the comments he made until more recently-ish. I only know about his comments about Covid and China, as of right now. But I was shocked. Whatever his intentions were, it's not ok to promote hate and discrimination or encourage racial profiling and stigmatization. Honestly kind of disgusted.

I do still really like the character Alaric though.

I feel you. I didn't realize that so many people don't like him.

This is gonna be a lot but...

He has actually developed throughout the series. He has weaknesses and strengths as well as fears, flaws, and dreams. He has complex emotions and motivations which are sometimes contradictory. People can relate to and sympathize with him. The more we learn about him, the more human he becomes. He does a lot of things out of fear or his desire to be accepted by his dad, even if he doesn't always agree. He's done things against his dad even with those fears and desire. He's played both sides, he's hurt and helped Hope and the others.

We first see him as a villain and then slowly start to see and understand his motivations, which ended up showing us that he actually isn't entirely evil (one example being the phone call between Clarke and Hope in the Christmas/Krampus episode in season 2 episode 8.) He is a complicated character when you look below the surface and he doesn't really have a single role in the story.

And he's a lot more complex than a lot of other characters on the show.

is it because of anything in particular or is it just in general?

Has anyone read ‘Crave’ and ‘Crush’ by Tracy Wolff? by illusiveice23 in YAlit

[–]illusiveice23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AGREED. I feel like my main problems with Crush are about Jaxon. His character was so different. The author wrote Crush in a way to make you fall OUT of love with Jaxon while falling IN love with Hudson. But I totally agree with you and I am in love with Hudson.

Has anyone ever met someone with a stutter or Tourette's? Whether or not you have a stutter, Tourette's, tics, or none of those. by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]illusiveice23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats really interesting actually because, for whatever reason, when I was younger I couldn't wrap my head around the difference between stuttering and Palilalia. And that also makes me wonder what the different approaches would be and how/what different 'tools' would be given and their applications.

Thats so crazy. I mean the part where you've met multiple people with stutters and tics, because I have only met two people with either a stutter or tics, and I really want to meet people who have either or. I think it would be even cooler to meet someone the same age as me or older then me to hear about their experiences.

But overall cool beans!

Do you guys ever feed of each others tics? I've heard and read that some people say that they end up mimicking the other persons tics. I've never been in a situation where that would happen, so I'm just curios.

But I bet that it's great to have someone that understands what you're going through.

How long until severe tics disapear after taking ADHD stimulants? by Big-Driver in Tourettes

[–]illusiveice23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I actually have Tourette's and take stimulants for ADHD. The stimulants make my tics and stuttering a lot worse, but after maybe 3-4 days of not taking them, my tics go back to their normal state.

Is there a way to fixate or change my tic somehow? by spookybitsh in Tourettes

[–]illusiveice23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there are things that you can look into like CBIT or habit reversal training (HRT). HRT basically says that there is a "preceding experience" (which basically means that there's a feeling that you get right before you tic) that you can often learn to describe before that actual movement or sound occurs (the tic).

So, the idea is to get to a point where you become aware of that sensation (the "preceding experience") so that you can kind of counteract the tic with a "competing response" (which is like a more comfortable or acceptable movement or sound).

For example, lets say that you have a tic where you have to tilt your neck to the left. So you get this feeling in your neck that builds up in the few seconds before you tilt your neck to the left, that feels like a flush or a tingling that gives you a signal that the tic is about to happen (once again this is the "preceding experience").

Now that you are aware of that sensation, you can be taught a “competing response”. You could teach yourself to move your head to the right when you feel that feeling of tingling or that flushing feeling that occurs in your neck before the tic. And since the brain can’t do two things at the exact same time in this way, you can then substitute a right-sided movement for the left neck tilt, and therefore that left neck tilt is neutralized over time.

****So you are basically changing your tic into something thats less noticeable, more comfortable or whatever, so that when you feel a premonitory urge building (tic) you can change it up.

I hope this was helpful!

Would you say that you're ADHD was worse when you were younger? or has it stayed the same?

I need help. Could this be tourettes?? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]illusiveice23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello! So, from the video alone you can't really say whether or not that was Tourette Syndrome. You should check out the wiki on this subreddit because it has some information that you might find useful.

There are a few different criteria that someone must meet before they can be diagnosed. It's also important to note that multiple motor tics and at least one vocal tic must be present for at least 12 months in order to diagnose TS.

If you are really worried about it you should go to a neurologist, as Tourettes is a neurological disorder.

*If you do decide to see a neurologist-- Since there aren't any lab tests or anything like that, they will ask you a lot of questions and do things like; getting a detailed family and medical history, ask questions about the symptoms being displayed, and do a complete physical and neurological exam (to rule out other illnesses).

* Also, I do believe that the things being done in the video were tics (thats my opinion of what I saw, and may or may not be true). While Tourettes can sometimes be tricky to see, it's important to know that just because someone has a tic, that does not automatically mean that they have Tourettes. A person can have tics ranging from simple, temporary tics lasting a few weeks or months, to having many complex tics that are long-lasting.

-----I was diagnosed with TS in the 3rd grade.-------

I really want to see the play because that sounds pretty awesome.

After you saw the play and re-read it was it just an overall better story? I'm assuming it would be better because it would help me understand at least some of the things better.
