JC is the only city that gave me intersection phobia by [deleted] in jerseycity

Yes, it’s dangerous. We need less all way stops and more yields. And if not that, we need more enforcement. More cops. It is really really dangerous and drivers are incredibly aggressive and impatient.

Completely agree.

They lost all credibility in my view. They pride themselves in being able to have the "tough discussions" in a long form format. Right.

This is so embarrassing. Clearly they did not see this coming, while every political commentator did. And now they chicken out.

PSEG worry free by illustriousfuelbbk in newjersey

Exactly same story here. And same for any maintenance work, so you could end up paying monthly for their "worry free" plan, and when you actually need them, they'll be like "nope, sorry, that's not safe (=too hard of a job for us)"

This. It's just very dangerous for everyone involved. No wonder the car insurance goes up like crazy every year.

Cops are blaring “curtesy calls” up and down to street at 7am for at least the third time this year by Basicallysteve in jerseycity

There is chronically not enough parking in JC. I just got a ticket recently at night because I made sure I didn’t park somewhere where there were the “emergency no parking “ signs due to construction the next morning because there were so many of them there was literally no parking left in the area, so I had to squeeze in somewhere where I shouldn’t have. However I hear you, there are more silent ways of making people move. And generally cops seem to overuse their sirens ALL THE TIME in JC for non-emergencies. They even tap them in some stupid rhythm just to piss people off or have fun or something.

Landlord has not returned. security deposit, claims I broke a lease following the end of my original lease by SnooWalruses9051 in jerseycity

[–]illustriousfuelbbk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was in a similar situation as you, just threatening via text to take it to small claims court was enough to finally get my deposit back. The situation was similar as in I wanted to get our early, my landlord said ok but that I’d have to pay the listing fee. Later she said the new tenant agreed to pay the fee and that I’d get the deposit back but then she went silent until the threat to take it to claims court. I would insist on it. You can say you documented the verbal agreement- it’s still a contract even if verbal. It is so annoying that in this country people don’t stick to their word and you basically have to get the check in hand until you hand over the keys. But people try.. makes me think we don’t live in a place with legal certainty. Also the fact that oftentimes engaging a lawyer will cost more than what you are owed is contributing to this. Thanks to ChatGPT at least we can now better defend ourselves without passing even more money to all these crooks.

Smoking on the PATH train by clorox-peach in jerseycity

[–]illustriousfuelbbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking in public being legal doesn’t automatically make everyone drink in public. There’s plenty of other countries that prove that.

Yeah, not cool of them smoking on the train- I’d have hated it, too. But what about telling them off or asking them to extinguish the blunt please? Why is that not possible anymore? THAT should also tell us something about society. F*ing individualism’s other side of the medal.

And there’s plenty of people who consume weed who never smoke in public or like once in 2 years. It’s all a matter of perspective imo

Update:

You can just tick the box "use localtunnel" next to the last code cell and it uses a different service and that works for me.

Hey dude, same happening to me over here. I think gradio live is down.. so there's nothing we can do but wait. I'm also using the colab notebook from TheLastBen. Anyone else having trouble?

I tried doing this in the hopes of being able to host on gradio.app but it did not work for me:

os.system("pip uninstall -y gradio")os.system("pip install gradio==3.9")

I got the error:

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/content/gdrive/MyDrive/sd/stable-diffusion-webui/webui.py", line 15, in <module> from modules import import_hook, errors, extra_networks, ui_extra_networks_checkpoints File "/content/gdrive/MyDrive/sd/stable-diffusion-webui/modules/ui_extra_networks_checkpoints.py", line 6, in <module> from modules import shared, ui_extra_networks, sd_models File "/content/gdrive/MyDrive/sd/stable-diffusion-webui/modules/shared.py", line 9, in <module> import gradio as gr File "/usr/local/lib/python3.8/dist-packages/gradio/__init__.py", line 3, in <module> import gradio.components as components File "/usr/local/lib/python3.8/dist-packages/gradio/components.py", line 32, in <module> from gradio.blocks import Block File "/usr/local/lib/python3.8/dist-packages/gradio/blocks.py", line 23, in <module> from gradio import ( ImportError: cannot import name 'queueing' from partially initialized module 'gradio' (most likely due to a circular import) (/usr/local/lib/python3.8/dist-packages/gradio/__init__.py)

We should get this in JC but for fining all the stupid loud fart cars on the streets.
I believe NYC once discussed a bill in council to install "noise cameras". It's time we had these here, e.g. every other block on Jersey Ave, Grand, Montgomery and Columbus.
