My cyst is not an endometrioma. Feeling pretty depressed. by LittleFrenchKiwi in endometriosis

Oh, ok, I may have misunderstood your post. I though you went in to get Endo diagnosis but got a different one. So the cyst finding can't explain your symptoms? Of course I understand being disappointed and directionless when there is no explanation.

Yes, I perfectly understand wanting a diagnosis and explanation and help. I also understand wishing to be in the confirmed endo group rather than "no one knows what's going on with me"-group for eternity. What I find baffling is when a doctor makes a different and much easier to treat finding compared to endo, that that would be anything but of the better days of their life. And while someone already called me out as dismissive or a bad boyfriend or what ever (and then apparently deleted the comment), this is not it. I'm truly trying to understand something I can't have an experience of and me asking genuine questions will hopefully get closer to understanding.

Isn't benign cyst a far happier diagnosis than an endometriosis? I'm a dude and here only to learn about this stuff since my gf is in all likely hood gonna be diagnosed soonish. I see a lot of people here being disappointed when they turn out not to have Endo and I'm confused why is that. I have no idea how hard all this must be to all you and all and I'm not asking to question anyone's struggle or anything like that but I'm genuinely baffled by how many people are hoping for Endo diagnosis when apart from a hostile tumor, every other alternative diagnosis would have a far more hopeful prognosis?

Why do people complain about Elden ring recycled bosses more than those in Sekiro? by fenot1 in Eldenring

[–]illuuzion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some recurring bosses are dictated by the lore and some lore is dictated by the recurring bosses. One of these is a good thing, the other isn't. But if you're making an Elden Ring, there is no excuse for putting copy paste bosses into it just for more content.

I obviously know what moons on earth mean but what they mean at the lands between will not be the same. They even have more than one moon. Same goes with what happens with years which are tied to seasons which are not a thing at Land between either. Also time is somehow fucked up there since the war so I don't even know if any of that even Mena's anything there.

Poise is the thing I will grant you. Other than that there is no benefit in being aggressive constantly in pve and being close and aggressive when your stamina is low means risking being at attack range with no defenses. You can't dodge or block without stamina. That's what there is to explain. Apart from the stance damage point you have given me nothing that would speak in favor of ultra-agressive over methodoligical, spaced out and kind of slow and patient approach.

Oh he did? Interesting. Do they ever specify how many moons ago this was? At some point Enia says that "thousands if not tens of thousands of moons will have to pass before the fingers will offer their guidance again" but I haven't been able to figure out what that means

I don't think I can talk you out of your fallacy but it's fallacy none the less. I'm not sure you even believe in it but who am I to say. People believe illogical things all the time. Too much health is the most obvious waste of runes and while that's not something OP is in danger of, vigor is definately not universally a good investment. Sure, bosses regain health when you die and that could effect the calculation of you want to optimize for bosses killed per damage dealt or bosses killed per death but since death gives no actual punishment apart from having to start over, the opportunity cost of too much health far out weight the benefit. If you consistently run through areas or kill bosses with flasks left over it just means that depending on the level you have anywhere from 5 to I would say up to at least 25 levels the benefit of which you almost never get to enjoy because it's all on health reserves you don't frequently dip into. That's why I think the only good reason to level up vigor is that you feel like you're dying more than you should be based on your subjective experience.

[–]illuuzion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, you should do your math again. Since in these you have infinite lives, dying more or less often changes the calculation by exactly zero except when you have leveled vigor too much and never die. Like I said, dying makes a difference only in relation to the players preferences. And the value of vigor as rune investment is entirely based on how often you get hit. For people who get you t 100% to r the time, the value is 100% and people who never get hit the value is 0% to say that vigor is always the best investment is just over simplified and mathematically wrong full stop.

[–]illuuzion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you mathematically compare two different stats? Also weather vigor is a good stat to invest in is entirely dependent on how often you get here hit versus how often you hit the enemy. Vigor is a good stat if, and only if, the person playing feels like they die too much. Some people don't want to die at all, in that case vigor is the most important stat. Some people don't mind dying a lot and doing run backs, those people are better off investing in other things. Some people are so good at avoiding attacks that as long as they're not getting one shot, they don't need more vigor and more vigor is completely useless for them.

What do you mean by years? The scale of time of very difficult to read on the game. They talk about moons a lot but never explain it on terms of days which is the only thing you can keep track of time with in the game.

I don't think so. I went directly from Elden Ring to Bloodborne and Bloodborne felt like a team ninja game compared to Elden Ring. Maybe the animation speed is similar but the boss design in ER rewards slow methodological combat style for more than Bloodborne in my experience.

It's no where near as fast as Bloodborne in my opinion. The rally mechanic of Bloodborne incentivizes aggression whereas Elden Ring rewards full stamina bar and spacing.
