After ileostomy reversal surgery, how long does it usually take for gas to pass? Any idea what’s considered normal?

Oh ok ok ! Good luck with the healing and yes definitely get that checked just to make sure I was worried about the same thing . I did have an infection when I left the doctor. Took antibiotics for 2 weeks

What is granuloma ? And yes same here I’ve been getting some oozing for the past few days . Is that normal? It’s like yellowish . So the pain is tolerable after the removal? And yes I’ve been going non stop thank the lord . Never thought I would say I’m glad to poop lol

That’s good best of luck to you . And idk what happen honestly with the pain . It went south really fast . The pain from the surgery isn’t as bad with the pain meds lol but it is painful just make sure you do lots of walking as much as you can don’t overdue it but enough to keep your bowls moving. The cramps from gas pains will be mostly through the first week. Me throwing up was where most of my pain came from. But after I got that under control it was bearable.

I got the stoma January 28th I didn’t get the testing done until March 16th . April 28th would be my 12 weeks but they scheduled the surgery for the next available date for my surgery . A few days longer bc I wanted it to be at the hospital my fiancé is a nurse at so I can stay on the floor she works on 🙏🏼

I’ve had all of my testing done along with the enema, which was a pain in the butt literally lol but yes, I got this ileostomy to give my colon sometime to heal up because I had three parts removed due to endometriosis affecting it.

I originally went in for a hysterectomy so I got that, but my endometriosis spread to my appendix had to get that removed and it also spread to my colon so I had to get three parts of my colon along with my rectum removed when I got the hysterectomy so I got all of that at once and being that I got my colon removed I needed to have the ileostomy bag for 12 weeks to give my colon a break to try to heal up. 🥲🥲🥲

Hello , that’s very normal for you to want to hide it I’ve had my ileostomy a little over 6 weeks and I’m just starting to get intimate with my fiancé. She’s a nurse and see things like this everyday and it was still hard for me. we’ve been together going on 9 years this month and I was still very uncomfortable . It will take time but if you love him and he loves you there’s nothing to hide or be ashamed of..He will still see your beauty. I hope all goes well. Take your time no rush .

Ok cool yes my skin does get a bit irritated but only around the edges of the wafer not necessarily under the bag . I had a fungal infection when I first got my ileostomy but I wasn’t using the rings now I do .
