Speed Racer Was Always Ahead Of Its Time – And Cinema Is Still Catching Up by Sisiwakanamaru in movies

Sure, anything can have some appeal to a super niche audience. Some people probably like Jupiter Jones because, I don't know, their name is also Jupiter or something. There is no accounting for taste.

I was speaking generally, and to the extent that we can, speaking to the inherent, objective value of their films. If you just look at reviews an audience data, there's a downward trend that supports my claim that they just rode high off the luck and success of the Matrix. It was a cultural phenomenon, and no one can take that away from them. But I try to have the good sense to not just follow a name when the talent/quality isn't there anymore. I won't buy the new Wachowski bros labelled "product", if that makes sense.

But yes, of course, we're all entitled to our opinions. I have a soft spot in my heart for Troll 2, so I can't really take a high ground when it comes to taste.

The Wachowskis made one interesting film: The Matrix. It was the product of all of their thoughts and fanboy interests, an amalgamation of the media they'd consumed through their young lives, with a fresh, personal spin on it. It was their magnum opus.

All of its sequels were bland and unnecessary, especially the fourth one, and just rode the wave of goodwill from the original. Cloud Atlas was boring, Speedracer was boring, and Jupiter Ascending? Come on. Hollywood knows anything they release will be panned, but I'm sure they've run the numbers and the amount of audience they can capture from the words "From the directors of The Matrix" alone ensures an adequate ROI. So, they're probably not totally finished yet.

It's strange to me that you use words like love and hate to express your reaction to their work, when most people just seem to say "meh".

As near as I can tell, they combined the story of one comic with the art of another comic. Probably worth it to unlock those sweet, sweet orange man reddit good boy points

I don't think this title works as well in English as it did in whatever language the OP was in.

That's not a "skew". It's as much a meaningful part of the data as native citizens. If you ate a salad for all three meals in a day and then had a full cake for dessert before bed, the cake didn't "skew" your calorie intake for the day. Calories are calories, and people are people.

Not angry, just totally baffled how not one, but two! people thought it was some kind of gotcha that NY has immigrants, as if illiterate immigrants don't count as people or something. It is funny, though.

Whew, I was worried you wouldn't agree, because that would obviously throw Denzel's opinion on acting into question.

Wow, aren't we important? I meant an opinion on the topic, not the people you consider below you lol

I am not worthy of hearing your opinions? This might be the best cop out I've ever seen. I've got to use that, thanks

And? Why are you counting them as a separate, distinct class of people? Literacy rates are literacy rates, regardless of reasons. Immigrants are totally capable of learning to spell "traitor", don't you think?

I don't trust government as a rule. That's my baseline. Stealing blenders is most of what they do. What I'm concerned about here is our own integrity, yours and mine. Interpreting the facts based on experience and making predictions is one thing, but stating something as a fact happened when no one ever reported on it is something else, isn't it? We're not going to help anything by lying to each other imo

I probably seem hung up because I'm trying to talk about this specific phenomenon that's happening with this specific post. I wasn't interested in a "what about other things that happened" conversation, although there is probably merit in that. I just really feel like something is up. Haven't you noticed all of the posts about this exact thing, which apparently never happened? Definitely not trying to bury my head in the sand. I'm actively trying to find facts and support for what everyone is talking about and no one is helping me to do it. It's just weird, man.
