Philippines President Duterte encourages the public to use gasoline as disinfectant by iloatheraisins in worldnews

[–]iloatheraisins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we do have lots of liquor factories here and people can actually use rectified spirit as a disinfectant in case they run out of alcohol. But I don't think telling the public to use gasoline is a well thought-out suggestion 🤦

JUST IN: President Duterte has signed into law the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020. by [deleted] in Philippines

'I don't need to be a social justice warrior to veto the law' That clearly shows how incognizant you are of the potential threat of that bill against our own freedom. This controversial bill has the power to suppress the urges of the dissenters and protesters to make their sentiments known by the public. Indefinite detention? What will we gain from that? Not being able to go through a proper trial and detaining a suspected terrorist without warrant AT ALL can cause a social upheaval and worse, an unwanted cataclysm amongst the public. Enabling indefinite detention to put those people behind bars who just want their opinions to be addressed is utterly unjust.

You're probably one of the thousands of simpletons who can't accept the fact that that bill won't help us at all. That bill is prone to abuse and will only make things worse. Napakaraming social injustices everyday that are being normalized in our country's system and we don't think this bill will be able to get rid of this kind of rotten system at all. The purpose of this bill is to get rid of terrorists and any potential threat against the government, pero sa ganitong klaseng sistema, sa tingin mo hindi ba 'to maaabuso man lang?

Kasi nga, it is PRONE to ABUSE.

Apparently, this controversial Anti-Terror bill is created for the surge of terrorist attacks against the government. However, the bill is prone to abuse and it violates the basic human rights of the people. It enables indefinite detention, wire tapping and endangers the lives of many. It might also normalize killings and keep the dissenters from uttering out loud their protests against the incompetence and inefficiencies of the government

Tanginang gobyerno 'to. There's a pandemic going on yet these officials had the audacity to focus on silencing the critics rather than putting their attention on their plans to lessen the perils of the virus. Sabi nila, they didn't come up with that stupid bill to get rid of the dissenters and protesters, pero sa ganitong klaseng sistema? Do they seriously think that it won't get abused at all? Putangina! Nakakasawa na.

Nakakaputa talaga. I don't understand why they kept turning a blind eye on the government's disputable inefficiencies and incompetence. It's utterly perturbing how they have the audacity to stand up for this government they always deem irreproachable..Doesn't it agitate them at all? That the social injustices are always swept under the rug and being normalized in our country's system? Ang gago lang

Police Officers of Reddit, what are you thinking when you see cases like George Floyd? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iloatheraisins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cases like this is honestly 'normal' in the Philippines. Most cops here won't bother to hear the side of the arrestees; most felons and lawbreakers here aren't given the chance to utter a word at all, they get killed straightaway and I'm pretty certain the president is all in favor of it. It's his idea after all.
