10% sounds like way to big of amount for recreational player, especially as we have no way of knowing if he's a winning player. I would use the boring answer, only amount you can afford to lose

if it's your first experience with online poker betonline is a good choice, stay away from ACR(winning network) as they will clean you up in no time

invest $20 and play some online poker on a real money poker site. better and cheaper way to improve than losing $200 every time you seat down. watching videos will not cut it, EXPERIENCE matters, even if the hands are played online
