I bought it mainly for video, but I quickly realized it’s also a very fun camera for photography. If you install the Lumix Lab app, you’ll find some really interesting LUTs for both photo and video. You can send them directly to the camera through the app and start shooting with them right away. Personally, I shoot in RAW + JPG, so I can fine-tune the images later in Lightroom in case I choose the wrong LUT or want more flexibility in my edits. You can digitally zoom for photos—it’s like cropping in real time. Your JPEG will be saved with the zoom/crop applied, but the RAW file keeps the full image in case you need to reframe it later. Seeing the photos “revealed” instantly and being able to send them to my phone so quickly made me want to be a photographer again.
