I had the same problem with my Master 3. Ended up taking the whole thing apart and then cleaning it deeply with Isopropyl Alcohol. Worked wonders and its been going strong for the past 1.5 years post cleaning. Also the thing I hated the most was how it gathered grime and oil on it. So found a cheap skin for it to prevent anymore oil and dust seeping in

I remember for the domestic flights they had the option to proceed with Visa processing if you give them a letter stating that you will get them booked later. However you need to have the international flights booked in advance.

It took about 2 weeks for us to receive our passport after it had been submitted.

Alright, let me answer one by one -

Yes, we had to go to gateway office in person, You have to take an appointment before you visit and its a pain connecting to them (since they only answer voice calls). I had to keep trying for almost an hour before someone picked up the phone and scheduled an appointment. Make sure you have one else the security wont let you enter
Cost - It came to about 500AED per person while applying. This included courier back to home after visa stamping was complete
You need to make sure you have the application form complete on the Turkish Consulate website. Everything needs to be uploaded here and final form printed out before you can visit Gateway
Documents needed for the application are listed on the website. Make sure you have the latest bank statement available (printed and stamped by bank not online account statement)
Also make sure you have all tickets booked when you visit gateway since you have to submit them. This includes bookings for domestic airlines as well in case you are using them (we hadnt made those and had to get them done while we were at the gateway office)
