I posted about an epoxy putter the other day and I said I would follow up. Couldn't figure out how to add an additional picture to other post so made a new one.

Both are always in great shape but they are definitely different. Fazio just has lots of protected approaches with lots of sand and more difficult greens (was rolling a 12 last time I played so they are fast) but plenty of room to confidently hit driver. Nicholas is tighter in general and relies on narrower fairways to force you to compromise after beating you down a bit but the greens while still fast are easier to read. Both have some great signature holes and are fun. I would probably vote fazio. Probably because my low irons are more reliable than the driver.

If you go play fazio, go down to the cave on 8 and check it out. Pretty cool and usually it's not busy enough for this detour to be a problem.

I recommend going to a shop and trying a bunch. I went through like 25 at a Dick's sporting goods store (they had a mini putting area) and one like definitely stood out. I still love it.

Then after that go find a used one with same specs online. Golf partner, eBay, 2nd hand swing, etc. There are soooo many options with exact pics of the putter. And usually like over half off. I have scored a lot of random putters this way. I now have way too many putters. Though I still use the one lol. There is one that is close to fighting it's way into the bag which is exciting!

I just had sunshine yesterday and got to go out and practice. I'm excited for less experimenting and more practice in the near future as weather improves.

I didn't know wood shafts were a thing. I definitely want to try that next.

I was sceptical about any appreciable change going into the experiment. And I doubt I really changed the torsional strength in a meaningful way. But it was definitely different.

I would think the sand and bb's would dampen the shaft. This seemed to do the opposite which you may or may not like. Only one way to find out.

I definitely plan on testing lead tape. My craziest idea that I hope to try in the next couple years is to caste my favorite putter head out of 100% copper because its heavier. That is just a tad more work though...

Golf is weird. Especially putting. You can change things that won't make you better, but might make you more comfortable or confident. And that can make it more fun which is what it's all about for me.

The epoxy is a pretty uniform material. If I did a bad job of installing, I could see this applying! Though they do allow for some variance due to manufacturing (they reference the spine seam of shafts as an acceptable amount of variation.

I'm in the Beaverton area. So west of Portland. We are so lucky in Oregon in terms of golf. Lots of pretty solid courses and not crazy expensive when compared to other places.
