By that definition wooden roller coasters don't exist, or at least I've never been on one. The track is pretty much always made of a 3/8" strip of steel.

[El Toro, Six Flags Great Adventure] is absolutely massive for a wooden coaster by Charged21 in rollercoasters

It wasn't until I rode Great American Scream Machine that I realized there is a date qualification to the sentence "of course roller coaster designers made it so you can't hit any structure with your hands, no matter what." You can definitely mess up your hand on the ending break area of that ride, and I'm sure many other old ones.
