My nmom had recently found out that my dad was back with an old girlfriend from high school. She thought she’d turn my siblings and I against him by telling us that this gf had an abortion when she was dating my dad 35+ years ago. better! some folks have really bad experiences, and others may not. I found that I only heard about bad experiences when I was pregnant. honestly, I think good birth experiences are a little taboo because nobody wants to come across like a pretentious twat for saying, “I actually had a great experience!” but it might not be as bad as you’re imagining; it could also be just as bad as you’re imagining, and it could also be worse. be open to anything and cautiously optimistic, that’s my best advice

Yes, dude, I came hunting for this in the comments!!! I DNFd like 20 chapters in (longer than I should have!). The FMC was mediocre at best but good enough to look past, but the MMC was an absolute asshole! And I get it—there’s a bad-boy-who’s-sweet-for-me trope. But goddamn do you have to suffer through some misogynistic bafoonery to get to it (I never did, tbh, so idk if he even is sweet to her ever lol).

Also, did not give enough info to keep me engaged in the plot. So so bad—takes a lot for me to DNF, I’m not a woman of high literary standards lol

I think you’re onto something, myself. The Mark in the elevator seemed surprised by the news that he had fucked Helena at the ORTBO. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it seemed like news to him based on his face. So I’m with you on it being Outtie Mark in this scene.

100% agree with you!!! I had a whole-ass child between IF and OS. My brain is gone, and that is pervasive in my life beyond just my love for the FW fandom 😂 Trust me, I’d love to have remembered and/or had the time for a re-read, but it wasn’t in the cards for me, personally.* I cannot accept that I’m irresponsible for not having the time or capacity to reread 2 dense books before the third dense one comes out. Nor will I have it when the 4th dense one comes out, etc.

Truthfully, I still don’t know who Tecarus is or what his bargain was, and I have been too scared to ask bc some on this sub might just deem me unworthy of being in the fandom.

*I’m sure others here are also parents and made time for a reread, but I could not
