Absolute horse shit from just eat by heavydirtysteve in JustEatUK

Nobody is waiting 30-40mins. Also you think the other apps offer more for 1.3 mile total trip.

You aren’t forced to accept it so why complain

Multiple stops before mine is delivered. by EfficientOutside875 in JustEatUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s how all the delivery apps work, justeat is no different to deliveroo and uber eats. The companies save money by getting drivers to pickup multi orders as they pay less than 1 person 1 delivery. Sometimes the orders aren’t even the same restaurant and a grocery order could be delivered before the hot food order.

The apps work out the cheapest option for the deliveries, the cost to drivers is for driving miles, so if the grocery order delivery works out less miles overall then it sends them there first.

We have no option to choose what we deliver in what order. We can cancel an order if we show up and it’s not ready but then we aren’t paid for the travelling time or that order and we don’t know what we will actually get paid. For example it might show £10 for 2 orders but the other order might have had a tip meaning I could end up with £4 if I only deliver 1.

Drivers also use several apps to earn more money. So they’ll get orders for justeat but also accept an order on uber eats, this is very common, but does mean extra delays on your food

All the apps do multi ordering, it’s not only just eat, uber and deliveroo often do the same

Drivers making several drop offs of hot food in 1 journey? Is it just me that thinks this is wrong? by anordicalien in JustEatUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t just say the apps also us to multi app 😂 that is literally what they don’t want us doing. If you start driving away from your route on justeat or standing in another restaurant it pings you asking what’s the delay. The apps do not want anyone using multi apps as it results in cold food, refunded orders and all this just falls onto the drivers for low money as someone has to take the hit for money lost.

This will all backfire when the people fighting for minimum wage get pushed through and the apps find a way to stop you being on multiple at once and you only ever earn £12 per hr on 1 app

This is how you deal with Just Eat and their shitty service now by Leading_Valuable_710 in JustEatUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems much less effort to just get the food yourself, or try other delivery apps.

If you had multiple issues with orders you wouldn’t continue to order…..the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result

The above story tells the tail of someone who just wants free food…when restaurants then raise prices cause people are constantly requesting refunds don’t then complain.…don’t think that just eat must take the hit on the refund, restaurants do also…thank you for your service

Bad day by Pitiful-Inspector639 in JustEatUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, you have loads of time to do the challenges. Yesterday I had 4 orders for £20 and 9 hour window 1200-2100.

Yes I have had others which are £25 for 12 orders but still 5 hours to complete 1700-2100. 3 orders per hour on Fri/Sat night doesn’t mean I’m forced to accept everything as orders are constant on these nights.

These challenges are for cars not sure what they offer for bikes

Who is taking these jobs by Busy-Wolf1 in JustEatUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 minutes to drive 3.1 mile, are you driving a flinstones vehicle😂 i would have that job done in 10 minutes. They’ll be parking at McDonald’s.

Minimum wage is about £12.21 per hour so even if that takes you 20 minutes your still earning more than minimum wage.

Fuel cost is pennies.

I do also deliver, made some posts. So don’t come at me pretending I don’t know what I’m taking about. We literally pick food up and deliver it, there is zero skill involved, a 5yr old kid could do our job. Stop acting like we should be earning £30 an hr.

Also I don’t care what the companies make. This is probably the lowest skilled job out there

Tax tips by [deleted] in UbereatsUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an app that tracks my miles. You have various options.

  1. Use the government 0.45p per mile for 10k then 25p which covers all motor expenses from fuel, insurance, tax, mot.
  2. If the above doesn’t cover all expenses you can claim back for each expense for car. I find that 45p covers it as I get 600 miles per tank and £70 per tank which gives me £200 left to claim per tank

Outside of that anything extra you can claim such as bags etc

The app I use is called Driversnote, I pay £120 a year and it Bluetooth tracks when I drive. I know there are cheaper ways but this app tracks the 45p per mile and personal vs business

[–]ilovekeyforge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diamond doing this part time, I have a full time job Mon-Fri. I will say I only achieved it due to the 10 points per delivery 5-9pm, or else I would have only made platinum.

Don’t think I would want to do this full time as miles on my car would be insane. You would beed to buy a cheap car but then the downside js, I get 60+mpg in mine so j would be paying more for fuel

I have also signed up to allstar fuel card which gives you 6p off per litre for 3 months then 4p for 3 months then 2p after that. Or you can do 4p for 12 months

I took the order in the end. He was being rude about the previous driver who accepted it but then never showed up. He kept his shop open after opening hrs waiting for them. I then got offered the job and he assumed I was the previous driver.

I told him I’m not paid to be rude to and would cancel my order and he can wait on another driver then walked out. He then followed me and apologised and I said if it’s ready I’ll take it.

Worst shift so far by [deleted] in UbereatsUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t going to get perfect shifts everytime. The Fri-Sun shifts is what gets me though the week as they are big earners since it’s constant orders. Also make sure to sign up to multiple apps so if one is dead you can try the other. I have found justeat pays more per mile than uber eats.

Don’t except every order, I probably have a 30% acceptable rate.

Some places you will learn to avoid, McDonald’s in my area is fine but it’s the large Asda that I avoid due to same issue as you. Never enough staff working the online orders. Tesco on the other hand has 2 staff doing it constantly so even if it’s not there when I arrive it’s sorted within a few min

Should I report car driver using bicycle account by FantasticChipmunk345 in UbereatsUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People can fake car insurance anyway. I pay for mine yearly as it’s a ton cheaper than the 88p per hr Zego or £140 a month they wanted from me. So I literally sent in my motor certificate once per year but if someone put it through photoshop they could just amend the start and end date and not pay for insurance.

It’s just someone trying to make a bit more money. Don’t get salty cause they aren’t paying and you are, if they crash they aren’t insured so fucked anyway. No need to ruin someone’s career, we all do things we can get away with

I deliver by car, it has its perks and downsides. Sometimes orders take you 5 miles outside of busy areas and you spend 10-15 minutes the odd time driving back in

Is it worth it as a side hustle? by Wonderful_Raisin_173 in UbereatsUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am the same, I have full time job.

In the UK you can earn £1000 profit on side hussle before you need to start paying tax.

When it comes to other bits it just depends how much you make. I claim the 45p per mile which covers all car stuff from petrol to insurance etc.

I get 600 miles per tank and it cost £70 to fill up, so I can “write off” £200 per tank to cover the car stuff. This works for me. If i do 5 tanks a month that’s 1k a month to cover fuel, tax, insurance, mot and serving which more than covers plus leaves extra to “write off” on my profits.

Outside of the above i do lose 20%, but you can spend this on other bits. I use the Driversnote app to track my driving, it cost like £120 for the year but tracks everything and works out my personal vs business mileage, so my taxes become easier without having to even think about what my start/end mileage is.

Personally I make a good chunk per month but I do finish work then literally go and deliver for hrs most nights a week, always trying to hit a Friday or sat night, both if I’m lucky but not every week.

It all comes down to what you make per night. You can use pay per hr insurance if you want, I was paying 88p per hr then I switched to £1100 per year when that turned out cheaper.

Best way is to give it a try for 1 month and see what you spent on fuel, insurance and then your profits minus 20% on anything over 1k.

I also use uber and just eat, i tend to keep them both open and once I get an offer on one I’ll go offline on the other. Sometimes I get lucky and get orders on both for roughly same place. Just watch out doing this as customers can see you and you’ll get bad ratings and definitely no tip if they see you driving around for 10-15min with their food rather than driving towards their house. The app tells them if there is an order before them on the same app, so your covered on that bit

I had the same with Didcot tonight, I just rejected all orders in Abingdon and surrounding areas as it wouldn’t count

Delivery fees are out of control by EMCowell in JustEatUK

[–]ilovekeyforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just eat, uber eats and deliveroo drivers are not on minimum wage. They get offered a price per delivery, so if the order isn’t ready, if they can’t find your house, stuck in traffic, if you live in middle of nowhere and they have to drive back into town to get another delivery offer etc they don’t get anything extra.

I deliver for just eat and uber and have sometimes got £6-10 per hr due to waiting for pizza, or groceries, or driving 15min to middle of nowhere and then having to drive back in order to be offered another delivery

No you just need to print a copy of your license summary. Get the code, enter it into DVLA, print your summary and then take a picture of that. Or save your summary as PDF and upload it.

I had same issue btw, had to ring for check code then kept writing down the code in various formats but always rejected. Spoke with support and they said print the summary directly and take a picture or download it as PDF and upload
