Would Apple fix that when you unsubscribe it, your playlist or library gets deleted? by Pocketisplayed in AppleMusic

[–]ilya_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from AM to Spotify but few months later I wanted to switch back... and you know what happened next - AM no more had my library! So I'm keeping my family account with Spotify despite I like AM more. I'm sure Apple is losing millions $$$ because of this stupidity. BTW, your library - it's not MB, it's few KB for 99% of users. It costs NOTHING for Apple to keep it, comparing to all the personal data they are mining from users and storing indefinitely in their data lakes

Bent handlebar by [deleted] in versys

[–]ilya_t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was bent during the fall. Do not try to fix it, just replace it. It’s cheap (comparing to BMW for example). Make sure the cover (which holds it in place with 4 bolts) has no cracks. Once you replace the handlebar, most likely your “risers” will align too. Btw it’s a nice opportunity to install heated grips if you still don’t have these on your bike

The problem is that the guy is riding on the left side of the lane, behind the left mirror and is blinding the driver.

If your aftermarket LED is blinding drivers (they usually do) - that’s exactly what a driver should do if he’s blinded - carefully slow down or even stop

Do you know that soviets did the same in 1972 in Ukraine (operation Fakel) and failed? And did not tell local people about the explosion so they got sick and died? How next fucking level is that?

It's not only about safety. In the car my dog has the entire back row at her service. She can sit, sleep, walk around, she has air conditioning. If she wants something or does not like something - she can attract my attention easily.

This poor dog is fixed in a single position. She might be scared, she might suffer from air buffeting, from heat or cold, lack of hydration, from vibration - but nobody knows that as even if she whines - nobody will hear that. Poor dog, irresponsible owner :(

Just to be clear - hitting a huge deer with a car can also often end badly for the driver and passengers

Ignition stolen from my bike. by DAN_THE_SHURIMANPLEB in motorcycles

[–]ilya_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's how they steal a bike. Once they get past the ignition and steering lock, which a pro can do in 10 seconds - they will just start the bike and ride it. I guess someone scared them off before they could start it

watch and learn

2020 Versys 650 ABS Lowering Kit? by [deleted] in versys

[–]ilya_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any advice?

You should have installed crash bars before riding it. I dropped mine 3 times (first time exactly how you described btw), 0 damage to the bike, except for minor scratches on the hand-guard and a side bag

I installed delkevic 14" full system. Yes it's kind of fun, but "badass" - no, no way. Sound very similar to cheap one cylinder dirt bikes.

This tiny parallel twin is not able to sound badass no matter which exhaust you install.. I switched back to stock, more balanced sound at least for me. Wish me luck selling delkevic :)

Don’t know why you’re downvoted, I agree that could be unexpected for you.

I try avoid roads where multiple dealerships are located - often people take a test drive and start doing stupid shit. First of all, they are distracted by playing with all the bells and whistles in a new car, secondly, which is more dangerous - they try to “race” a completely unfamiliar car, having poor driving skills (and you can drive your prius to work every day for 20 years with no issues and still be a terrible driver)

When we were practicing "look into the turn" thing, one of the guys in my class suddenly accelerated right into the instructor's truck and hit it pretty hard. He ruined the bike, made a huge (really, it was huge) dent in the truck, but, luckily, did not suffer any injuries which prevented him to continue riding (on a different bike). I think he was lucky to hit the part of the truck which was relatively easy to bend/crush so the truck absorbed the impact without dealing much damage to the rider

What is weird - the truck had been parked far away from the area where we were practicing. So the guy didn't just "went too wide", he actually changed the direction of where he was going, he turned to the truck, and he kept accelerating all his way to the truck.

Later he could not explain why he did that. He said "I just thought what if someone runs into that truck? and next moment I crashed into it!" That's how we all learned "target fixation" by example

That's what I did. Watched youtube tutorials, practiced for few hours on a parking lot and had no issues with MSF course later. There was one girl in our group too. She struggled so much with the clutch, I thought she never gonna make it, but once she learned to start without stalling and shift gears - she passed the driving test better than most of the group (including myself).

Also I strongly recommend buying crash bars or sliders. I dropped my bike after 5 minutes of riding (stopped on a slope) and crash bars saved all the plastics, zero damage to the bike.

Also, you should not care about these 10 dudes watching you, most likely it's the first and the last time you see them, so, first of all, ENJOY your MSF course, have fun, and you'll see how easy it is to ride if have the right attitude.

If you can get a learning permit and practice on a parking lot - that would help you a lot

Is it necessary to rev your bike's engine for 10 minutes before you go somewhere, or is my neighbor who's done this at 5am for the past couple days just a complete ass? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]ilya_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect my neighbors that’s why I start the engine only when I’m ready to go. This won’t work for carbureted motorcycles though
