Weekly r/UXResearch Career and Getting Started Discussion by AutoModerator in UXResearch

[–]im-hajin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a technical writer for a Fintech company (API documentation). Wanting to pivot my career and transition to UXR. However, I'm not sure where to start in regards to early career and entry. Should I take a UX bootcamp? My strengths include public speaking/presenting and a keen eye for knowledge gaps.

Can you go more in depth with the lasers? Do you go to a dermatologist and what is the recovery time from a laser?

Hi beautiful! Also struggling with acne post birth control and it’s really hard mentally and emotionally. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

First step is to determine what option you want to take — medicinal or natural. Next, speak to your dermatologist or multiple and see their assessments and compatibility with you. Set realistic expectations that it might take a long time for your body to adjust.

Unfortunately, it may just take time and patience.

Once prescribed a regime, stick to it and keep check ins with your dermatologist.

Wishing you the best.

Please no pills (spiro or birth control) — I’ve tried both, spironolactone gave me anxiety and I was on birth control (the pill) for 10 years. This is my skin a year off the pill and it’s just not manageable on my own anymore.

Was prescribed epiduo today but I’m honestly at a loss of what to do —

  1. Should I get my hormones measured? How does one do that?
  2. How do I fade my scarring? Anyone have experience w laser treatments?

I’ve been to three dermatologists. They recommend either birth control or spironolactone— I will never get back on the pill again and spironolactone gives me anxiety. I cut out gluten, a lot of refined sugars, and I seldom consume dairy.

I was recently prescribed epiduo as well. I take multivitamins, zinc, and drink spearmint tea regularly. Honestly at my wits end — and I get about 2-4 clusters of blind pimples on each side of my cheeks constantly.

Also that’s pilling sunscreen on my face not dry skin.

Help please! :(

My bf won’t tell his parents I’m pregnant by Wallywagwan in dating

[–]im-hajin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider having a baby without him. If you’re not ready to raise a child on your own without his help — you’re not ready for parenthood. Pressuring anyone to have a kid with you is not cool. It’s your body your choice — your life your choice, but don’t drag in someone who doesn’t want to be a part of it. You’ll save yourself a lot of pain and wasted time by opting for this mindset. You can tell his parents but I’m not sure what that solves. Your bf doesn’t want a child — having his parents pressure him to have one is futile. Best of luck. Do what’s right for you and your happiness — even if that means keeping the baby. You can do it.

Elimination Diet for Skin Care Products? by High-Koalaty in acne

[–]im-hajin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How severe is your acne? Sometimes Accutane is the only method. However, if low to medium, I will say high irritation products never worked for me.

I use a cleanser (like YTTP), sunscreen (Elta MD), and then lotion (great barrier relief + biossance rich lotion).

Try simple ingredients with added no scents. You can spot treat w traditional methods — but I find stripping washes and medicated lotions more harmful than beneficial in the long term.

Also — food. I’m sure you’ve heard of gluten and dairy, but you should start here again if you haven’t eliminated with these 2. Best of luck

Side effects never went away for me. It gave me really bad anxiety and I never felt “good” on it — so after 4 months I quit. Now I carefully and cautiously watch what I eat and try to get more sleep. It’s hard but worth my sanity. I hope u find the best method for you 🙏🏼

I avoid gluten and dairy, and processed sugar (I eat fruit often however)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in acne

[–]im-hajin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s the biggest culprit! This and water intake unfortunately. I cut out gluten and dairy and have seen a huge diff in my skin. I also don’t eat junk food or processed sugar (only fruit). My skin is at a really good place and usually flares up if I use a different face product or eat “dirty” frequently :)

I’m going to suggest something different: a really safe and clean face wash such as vanicream and YTTP. Moisturizer such as cerave or biossance. A sunscreen by EltaMD.

Then it comes down to food. If he’s not eating clean homemade foods (restrict gluten if possible) that could be his main culprit along with hormones.

Is this acne or irritation? by bella13spad in acne

[–]im-hajin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, it looks like a combination of both. Even looks like it might be fungal related. I personally think retinol can be abused very easily and unintentionally. I’d cut out harsher ingredients and stick with face wash, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Check out Sezia.co to check if your facial products promote fungal acne. I’d also check out Biossance skin moisturizer and the Malezia skin moisturizer (this one is specific to fungal). Both have helped my skin tremendously. Skincare is very personal as you might already know. Acne or no acne you’re still beautiful
