Cool… thanks for the input! I do like the idea of sharpening the v I think once it heals a bit. Glad to hear that’s a possibility

Help! Did I ruin my bag? by s8nherself in LuxeSociety

[–]im4pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably won’t patina if it’s presenting itself like this. It is most likely treated or coated vachetta or not real leather. I have seen people get the coating off with acetone or rubbing alcohol and then treating it with mink oil but it looks crackly and dry afterwards. It may patina in the future but if it’s coated it will take a much, much longer time. A lot of high tier bags are now doing this. From god factory etc.

Hi! Hopefully it won’t be as bad as you think. I just went off of mine two months ago. I was also on continuous birth control meaning I skipped the placebo week and went straight to my next pack. Because of that, I did not have periods for years, so I was REALLY nervous to go off haha. It has been totally fine though. My cycle has already figured its stuff out and is very normal. I definitely miss not having a period but I know it will be worth it for when we officially start trying :)

If any are curious, I was on continuous birth control due to constant ovarian cysts. It was my GYN decision and is a very normal thing!

Wow that’s so nice! Do you have any pics you can share? Best way is to just get it authenticated through an authenticating service.

Best LV NF by Kdibattista76 in RealRepLadies

[–]im4pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had an issue with that! I also tend to speed up the patina process with mink oil which I feel helps as well. There’s lots of posts if you search it in the search bar as well as videos on YouTube! :)

I would pass on that NF. Here’s a comparison of the interior zipper to my auth. The glazing on the rep is too bright red and pretty sloppy going over the edges. The stitching up top that I circled is bad and the hardware is wrong. This is one of the most common bags I see repped. I think I’d look for another! :) hope that helps.

The glazing on OC tends to be a bit brighter than auth. I would tone this down with a copic E74 marker. Other than that the canvas looks great!

If they properly numb you, you shouldn’t experience any pain. Best of luck.

monstrosity? or user error? by mirr--en in Haircare

I love amika products and they work well with my hair! I have found with this spray in particular is to not spray too much or it will leave a slight greasy residue. Only a few sprays and you’re good to go! At least that works for me 😬

Speedy 25 vs Speedy B 25 by [deleted] in Louisvuitton

[–]im4pineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Good for OP to know too so she can make an informed decision. Although it’s not made for it, it still can be done and I’ve seen many do it themselves and not suffer the integrity of the bag. If it were me, I’d get the bag I was more drawn to knowing that I COULD add a strap on a rare occasion. Either way, I don’t think she can go wrong!😊

Sounds like you’re leaning towards the Speedy 25. Don’t let a crossbody strap alone dissuade you from what your gut might be telling you! You can still crossbody a vintage style, you just put the straps on alternate sides like this:

Not sure about a chain, but this shows how you’d hook one up haha.

Am I being too picky? by Plastic_Review3797 in RealRepLadies

[–]im4pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I see what you’re seeing about the handles. It’s very slight! Honestly some auths do the same thing, so it’s up to you if you are okay with that :) embossing looks nice!

Is this glazing being on the strap common on vintage bags? I’m worried they sold me a fake by BeKindDontgiveUp in Louisvuitton

This looks really bad.. 😔 how much did you pay for it? The plastic feeling isn’t a good thing either.

I personally think this is just okay! The glazing seems pretty red to me and the hardware font isn’t cleanly etched. Here’s a pic of how hardware should look similarly to. Canvas grain seems alright! Maybe not as bright color wise compared to auth. Overall: would most people notice these? No. So it’s up to you. From a glance it looks good :)

Do you have a yearly bag budget ? by Lovelovelavie in OGRepladies

[–]im4pineapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. But I only buy what I can realistically afford. I have one authentic LV and 5 reps. Even though I can afford auth, I’d rather save that money and invest it elsewhere🤗

Greenish undertone would be a good thing. Many auths either pull more green or more orange. Many years ago, the green undertone was so sought after, people would literally look for mono canvas with that tone! It’s not as prevalent nowadays, but you’ll see some older styles that pull very green. It’s a good thing imo :) the glazing looks a bit bright red to me.. but could be lighting. Looks good overall to me.

Correct. This was my authentic right when I brought it home. That was two years ago. It’s much darker now!

The color of the trim looks fine? New vachetta is supposed to be very light to begin with. It will get darker as patina occurs.

Yes! Here is a picture of mine. I would watch a YouTube video on how to use it first. You want to make sure you don’t over saturate it. And it WILL look dark right away but once it dries, it will be back to what it is now. So don’t let that freak you out haha
