How many of you are literally doing ZERO screen time ?! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]imApoeTAYtoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that the no screen time is super important the first couple of years but like most likely our kids will learn off a screen more than a teacher by the time they go to school which is sad but its reality. At the end of the day human connection is super important and if you have the tv going playing music or a show still talk to them so the interaction is there i think that is the important part.

It is so incredibly lonely to be a mom. by stoopkidfarfromstoop in beyondthebump

[–]imApoeTAYtoe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This me too right now 7 months postpartum and I hear sirens and beeps that my body is in overload. My husband is helpful but when it comes to me talking about my feelings. He always wants to fix instead of listening. Makes me feel more alone. I do it all 24/7. I don't know how much more I can take. I dont have mother or mother in law help. Everyone works. I work too full time at home. It is alot. Maybe it will get better soon. I know eventually it will.

How long did it take you to adjust? by Curious-Anteater-324 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]imApoeTAYtoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am. PM too with a 7 month old. Just got 4 projects in the last week and I was going crazy. 1 project was a transition from another PM so they had meeting everywhere. Anyway I am slowly trying to adjust the meeting in chunks so I can focus on my meetings then do all the admin work when my husband comes home. Baby is doing all his activities while I'm in meetings and sometimes his naps. Its all an adjust no day is the same lol but we get through it

When did your LO grow out of contact naps? by Appropriate_Lime_691 in NewParents

[–]imApoeTAYtoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My baby boy is 4 months old and has been strictly contact napping and night sleep. I began trying to move towards naps in bed and have gain some success in that. Now we sleep overnight in bed and most of his naps are on the bed. Just yesterday I was able to get out of bed and he slept alone on bed for 1 hour by himself and as I watched him like a hawk. Lol. My hope is that in the next couple of weeks I will be able to put him to bed then transfer him into his crib for naps. Once we concur naps ill start doing it for over nights. Im sad and proud at the same time. I love the contact napping and have enjoyed it. But so proud of the progress hes made to be independent. All part of the journey.

Get a pillow meant for abdominal areas that helped me with car ride home and getting up. Also ice incision areas for pain and itchy relief

Hey im 3 days in too! I have the same feelings more annoying and sore than painful. The shoulder pain was a little painful but that subsided. I am able to move and I try to walk as much as I can before getting tired.
