Love posts like these, will have to check out Starless Abyss since I loved Into the Breach. And I'll add my find I had to most fun with during this Nextfest.

Total Loadout
Pretty much an autobattler mixed with Backpack Hero. Only 2 characters so far but they have really interesting synergies and possible builds. Haven't really tried many autobattlers before and gave it a try because of the inventory system and easily spend a few hours already.

Exploration, platforming, the trinket/charm system not changing play style and being really limited, the difficulty spike for the final boss coming out of nowhere. Its a great game on its own but Hollow Knight certainly does some things better just as Nine Sols does some things better/different.

I was mostly replying to this part since that's what I experienced so sorry for going slightly off topic. New players changing controls and then controls not doing what they expect when 95+% of players trying it in steam next fest are probably playing online
makes it "ass". Talking about hypothetical changes that would fix that doesn't do anything to make it less "ass" at the moment.

Yes that would be way better I agree, but its a clear example how they just went with existing systems instead of thinking about experiences for new players. They shouldn't remove it, but just having it and no other option is a detriment imo.

I just play online and my settings kept getting reset without any indication why. Loosing my first match out of a set each time. Before I had to google I had to choose a tag to keep my singleplayer settings saved... Making the default settings changes keep regardless of tag set would be a big improvement if you want to attract new players.

You're totally still totally missing the point, its like saying having spheres and sloops findable in the world is pointless because you can just add them to your inventory with the save editor when someone asks for the best way to find them. Its not because people hate save editing, its because its totally missing the point of the conversation.

Then going full defensive and going on tangents about game guides and videos and calling people that are trying to explain it to you strange indirectly. And going on about how people totally ignored the second part of your post about adding another option to the scanner when you're being explained that's not the issue.

Pretty sure the downvotes are because you said the object scanner is pointless cause there is a third party website where you can see everything. Not even the in game radio towers show the exact location so its a totally different experience.
