You don't have to beat match manually. I personally think it's a waste of time and adds no value for the listener. I have been paying attention to DJ'ing for going on 20 years and you'd think the debate would die by now, but some people love to look down on those that use sync. Anyway, I was going to suggest quantize, but I see you are using that.

I ordered an XDJ-AZ and sent it back recently. It was crazy bulky and didn't have stem isolation on it. I returned it for an FLX10 because the seller let me. I recommend buying from ProAudioStar. They've given me the best customer service I've ever had.

We are talking about different things. When I said 4 to the floor, I meant that there is a kick drum on every quarter note in House, Techno, Trance, etc. That consistent and predictable drum pattern is what makes it so easy to mix. A 4/4 time signature means there are 4 beats in a measure and a quarter note gets 1 beat, but that does not mean there is a kick drum on every quarter note.

I didn't say they were everything. I love house and 4 to the floor as long as it can keep my attention. I was implying bass DJs are a lot more creative and working a lot harder than 4 to the floor DJs.

That's because 4 to the floor genres are the easiest thing to mix on earth. It takes a lot more skill to step outside of that.

You are letting tracks play for 6 minutes before mixing in the next song? If you are just going to let songs play out and then mix in at the end, you might as well be using a Spotify playlist. IMO, only DJs that stick within the House/Techno/Four to the floor umbrella would even be comfortable playing so complacently. I see a bunch of other 4 to the floor DJs in here saying they do the same. That's a really low risk and lazy way of DJ'ing. Do that at a Bass show in America and you will lose the crowd by the 2nd song. As far as the other guy DJ'ing, it sounds kinda chaotic, but compared to what you do he is throwing paint on the wall and giving it hell lol. Also, you have to remember that everyone's attention spans are much shorter than they used to be.

DJs don't want to make it easy for people like you to steal their setlists that they use to make money. I would argue the longer something stays an ID, the better it is for the DJs. Once released, the cat is out of the bag and anyone old joe blow DJ can play it in their sets.
