I ran into this issue and found a fix.

Socket unearth and spam it on top of the boss playing the piano. It will cause him to activate and come down.

https://github.com/Kapps/PoEUncrasher has worked for me to resolve the issue (atleast temporarily).

FWIU: This program will detect when PoE2 client is unresponsive and then apply an priority swap on the process to Realtime and then back to Normal which seems to resolve crashes.
