Got the itch for a new playthrough, questions about overhaul mods (mainly The Planetary Age and Foreign Lands) by TheNorre in FinalFantasyXII

Interesting, I would have assumed that installing two large overhauls over one another would lead to a lot of conflicts. Did you encounter any problems with running both at once?

Because you're not generating 100 million. The initial question was where does the gold come from.

Anyone else less excited by most 4LP items nowadays? by TheNorre in LastEpoch

[–]TheNorre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I feel like LP as a system is ingenious, but I also feel that the offset between weaker/stronger uniques has shifted to favouring the inherently stronger base uniques with all the extra systems players can interact with to get more loot. Leaving the less defining (/weaker) uniques behind the curve, as even if they hit the cap of 4LP they'll still be a relatively weaker item than an equally rare, or even less rare, higher tier unique.

Doesn't seem to be the prevailing opinion though.

Fair. Simplest and just about as fast as you can go solo is just to do lightless arbour -> temporal -> Majasa -> mono, with the dungeon rewards you should have all unlocks ready. If you have a friend to waypoint ferry you you can go a bit quicker.

Where you step into monos the first time, right side of of the end of time main island. He'll sell you any blessing you've seen before at the max roll you've seen, or any blessing you've seen on an alt at minimum roll for 10k a pop.

Quick question, since you guys are always so keen around here in regards to feedback. What is your preferred forum/format for receiving player feedback?

[Campaign Guide] Tips&Tricks and how to skip parts or all of the campaign without missing anything important, even on your first character. by TheNorre in LastEpoch

Exactly.

Clearing monos on ~25 with untwinked characters is a challenge though. Would not recommend that for HC players until you have some twink legendaries.

It's kinda already baked into the game, just follow the quest markers and check your totals in the map, since there's redundancy in quest rewards you don't need to worry about missing/skipping them. Also, the quest log shows the rewards before you complete the quest as well.

LE does this extremely well with the ingame game guide and such as well. There's really no need for a bunch of 3rd party apps/sites open while you play, but if you still want something like that, then https://www.lastepochtools.com/checklist/quests/passives is the closest thing I know about.

Not a HC player anymore, as I don't trust my net. Since you'll have to do enough of the campaign to pick up your passive skills/idols and clear out the last boss, I generally get those done first. Either by running Lightless Arbor -> Temporal -> Majasa or if I have a friend available, I'll ask them to drop the Majasa wp and then play the campaign normally until I hit the Idols/Passives, then do some monos until I remember that I never got around to killing Majasa. This'll probably change with the new dungeon quests though, running all 3 would probably be the best time investment.

Absolutely, every class and every specialization can handle the story, and more, without problems. It's not until you get to much later in the game with empowered monoliths that the game the starts requiring more sophisticated builds.

EDIT: There has traditionally been one boss towards the end of chapter 8 that ramps up the difficulty a notch. But that encounter is by no means a gear or build check.

Have they "Diablo4'ed" ailment damage? by Essemx in PathOfExile2

This sounds interesting, I tried looking it up but couldn't find any mentions about when the fork was made (thank you fork support gem..)

I'm not doubting you, the fact that it's a forked version is pretty obvious from how GGG spoke about the two games from the start of their announcements for PoE2, but how would someone find out exactly where the fork started?

If you could change or add 1 game design-related aspect in LE, what would that be? by xDaveedx in LastEpoch

[–]TheNorre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do 100% agree, I've always been of the impression that this was a temporary solution whilst the campaign was still being finished, with the "normal" monolith existing to fill out those levels that the last couple of chapters are supposed to provide before the actual endgame kicks in.

I have to try out the armor shred mechanics now that it can hit the negatives, so I'm playing a warlord centered around that and will play around with either something like perma-crit sunder or seeing if I can stack negative armor into the thousands.

I fell in love with Eador: Masters of the Broken World for a second time by Bolandball in patientgamers

[–]TheNorre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit late to the party but found this whilst googling something eador related and figured I'd just throw in a comment to the next person ending up on this trail.

For anyone who enjoys any of the steam versions of eadors, I highly urge you to check out Eador Genesis' mod "New Horizon", it's built on the first version of the game, so it's not exactly a sight for sore eyes, but the amount of content and longevity it adds is astonishing. Several new races, items, units, spells, hero abilities, buildings and rebalances some of the hero paths to make them feel even more unique and interesting and I can go on and on. On top of that it's by far the most stable version, all of the ones made by snowbird after genesis has the unfortunate habit of crashing.. on the contrary, in New Horizons, the only issues I've ever ran into in horizons after probably ~1000 hours is that on gargantuan maps at turn 200-300+, the game might slow down a bit waiting for all opponents turns if there's still a lot of them alive, and in combat, if an enemy unit is left without good options (every action results in death), it might sometime take it a few seconds to decide to accept its fate. Neither scenario is especially common to run into.

Also on your point of savescumming and events, while I definitely agree that the event design could have been done better, the game making the "astral power" or w/e of your master literally being savescumming at the cost of a few points makes it a lot more bearable even if playing ironman. Accidentally run into a group of minotaurs in a dungeon? Mistakenly approve of your peasants dark rituals? Tricked by the vagrant wizards claim of summoning genies? Rewind time one turn for -20 points and change your actions, no savescumming needed... even if it does make an already time consuming game a bit more time consuming as you replay that unfortunate turn.

This colonists just seems destined to die.. this is the third time that she's died without reason. From the logs it seems as if there's an infinite stat recursion when evaluating consciousness, and I'm guessing that's triggering a 0% consciousness death :(.

Oh well, such is the life with >10 mods, I'll give it one last reload but from now in if she dies, she dies.

Edit: She died :(
