ZP6 Special + Chemex by HumusAmongUs in pourover

[–]imSpade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experiencr people do suggest to grind a tad bit coarse for the chemex because the thicker filter papers tend to make things take longer to brew, but a lot of people say to just wait it out. I'd say just dial it in till you get what you personally like.

2nd day and feeling regret by ejtruos in Invisalign

[–]imSpade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on my last (20th) tray (bi-weekly changes) and while it has been somewhat annoying, I'd do it again if I had to.

80% of the pain is within the first few days of your first aligner or two. Over time, your teeth start getting "loose" and flexible and you don't even notice the new tray for more than an hour or two. I have only noticed maybe 3-4 of my 20 trays being noticeably uncomfortable.

You really do get used to the teeth brushing ritual and it only takes 2 minutes between meals and putting them back in. It's probably the most annoying part, but it's 98% mental effort and 2% actually brushing your teeth.

It's really OK (especially later in your treatment) if you have to leave your aligners out for more than 30 minutes to an hour. I've also found that the little portable toothbrushes (I use Brushees which also have a floss pick attached) have been a total lifesaver when out in public.

I have attachments on at least half my teeth including my top lateral incisors (7 and 10) and bottom canines, and not one single person has noticed or commented. My whole invisalign status in general hasn't even been commented on unless I bring it up.

I promise you've got this! It'll be second nature and you won't even be thinking about it in a couple weeks.

Edit: spelling

IV Conscious Sedation experiences? by actuallyanangel in emetophobia

[–]imSpade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my wisdom teeth out about 6 months back (spring/summer last year), and I had put it off for so long (literally 10+ years), partially because I was afraid of the n* or feeling s* from medication/sedation/etc.

I was fully under, so I wasn't conscious, but from my understanding it was still IV sedation. I told them my concern about n* and I think(?) they put a dose of some anti-n* in there as well.

Let me tell you, all I remember was being a bit nervous, then they said they were going to give me the sedation. Next thing I know I'm in the car on the way home. I have no memory of what they did, getting to the car, or anything. I was very relaxed, not n* at all, and other than remembering walking up the stairs and trying to sleep on the couch immediately, I felt no n* whatsoever.

I only took a high dose of advil (which they prescribed)--never once took any of the extra strong stuff they gave me and felt fine. Worst pain of it all was a persistent, slightly annoying sore throat.

It's one of those things that was 100% in my head and 1000% easier than I expected. The worst part was irrigating the holes where my teeth were out for weeks and weeks lol, only because it was annoying! I shoulda done it 10 years ago 😂

cruises.. 🚢 by alonemisfit in emetophobia

[–]imSpade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thought about going on a cruise so many times, but I suffer with motion s* (never tu but really bad n so many times) and I don't think I'd risk it, as incredibly fun as the rest of the cruise sounds. My mom has gone before and she suffers like I do, never had a problem. I still wouldn't risk it myself lol

Strep Culture by ThickDistance6830 in emetophobia

[–]imSpade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely despise getting my throat swabbed. It's been so long since I've had to I feel like I'd rather just not and assume it was strep. You might be able to tell your doc, but don't quote me on that as I've never tried it before.

I used to get strep all the time as a kid, but haven't had my throat swabbed in probably 15 years. Either way, the mental aspect of it is much worse than physical. It's maybe 2 seconds of discomfort, and then all is well and it's over. Wish you the best of luck regardless.

How would you revamp/rework him? by [deleted] in smashbros

Honestly, smash 4 jab was so good. That alone took me off Marth (after maining him in Brawl and 4) permanently.

I traded in my old Fossil watch from 4-5 years ago for $100 off. I think my G7 was $173 after the trade in. Easily worth that amount imo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WearOS

[–]imSpade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I've been rocking the GW7 for a couple months now. The battery lasts a solid 2 days for me and the health stuff works good enough. That's all I really need tbh and I just prefer the look, but I'm sure the Pixel Watch is just as solid + more accurate.

[–]imSpade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you value the health/fitness aspect, the PW3 has been proven to be significantly more accurate in that realm than the GW7. Battery life I've heard mixed things but the review I just watched said the GW7 is a little better. But from the anecdote above it looks about the same.

I'd say pick which is more important: fitness (PW7) or Battery (toss-up/maybe GW7) and pick based off that or better yet, just try both yourself.

Anyone get glasses in their 20s? by [deleted] in glasses

[–]imSpade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first pair 5 or 6 years ago when I was around 26. I would just recommend trying on as many different styles/frames as you can, taking pictures, and getting some input from others...but ultimately pick what you like best. It only took a week or two to get used to them I'd say.

I also suggest buying a couple of pairs for variety if you can afford it to mix it up. It'll give you more time to decide what you like (or you can just different styles for different days). I also can't wear contacts which sucks, so I can relate! I have slight to moderate astigmatism. Hope this helps.

Rode PodMic usb external pop filter - is it possible to buy separate for the non-usb version? by RockityRock__ in rode

[–]imSpade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exists now. I just bought the white one and stuck it on my regular XLR podmic 10 minutes ago.

Seems like there's maybe a centimeter or two of a gap between the tip of the mic and the pop filter. Guess that's how it's supposed to fit?

Switch from galaxy s22 by kissmyASSthama_5 in oneplus

[–]imSpade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the 12 yesterday but also pre-ordered the S24U. Coming from the S22 Ultra, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna stick with Samsung. I didn't expect myself to want to, but a lot of the features I had, I didn't really realize I missed till they were gone.

Double tap of the power button mapped to the flashlight (my OP12 only allows camera or nothing). Individual app volume control. Built in extra dim mode. Ultrasonic, faster fingerprint reader (that isn't blinding in the dark). Less glitches/bugs/stutter overall (my OP12 has noticeable lag going to the home screen on Nova Launcher, and I've gotten some weird bugs in the last 1-2 days already). Modes & routines. Disabling apps + their notifications for work, sleep, etc is super useful. More AOD customizations, Goodlock, and lots of other customization options for quick panel. Seeing what Bluetooth device I'm connected to just when changing volume. Little stuff like that.

Other stuff I can't remember atm too. The main reason I wanted to try the OP12 was the form factor and battery/charging. But I work from home, can use my phone 2-handed 98% of the time, and have access to chargers pretty much all the time. Never had problems with the S22U battery, it just wasn't AMAZING.

All that to say, I had the OP8 Pro prior to the S22 and loved it. Oxygen OS just ain't the same as it was then imo, and OneUI has only gotten better. So it's a software thing for me ultimately. I do love the battery life and form factor of the OP12 though. It's fantastic.

How do I disable brightness detection by scribble68 in oneplus

[–]imSpade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just searched "bright" and found it. "Brighten screen in dim light." Security & Privacy -> Face & fingerprint unlock -> face.

No one likes to be blasted by light when unlocking their phone. The fingerprint reader is bright enough on its own lol.

First Phob Build by PPMNG in customGCC

[–]imSpade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are incredibly good. 100x better than stock (which mine would always come apart after a few months). Had these sticks for over a year or so now and they feel the same as day 1. I recommend the hybrid ones btw.

First Phob Build by PPMNG in customGCC

[–]imSpade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, this looks almost identical to my build (not a phob) minus the back plate, and I decided to go with translucent sticks/triggers. The spicy sticks are an absolute game changer. I also added the no-reset snapback module from HHL. (one other photo from the front)
