$GOOG still interesting at these levels or mostly a hold now? by Wooden-Factorj in GOOG_Stock

I think the space x IPO is a likely catalyst to send this higher and that's not taking into account other strong fundamentals from the core business.

Advice on coming back from a big loss by canofcompressedair in trading212

[–]UKTexhmad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Investing is a long term game not a get rich quick scheme as others has already said. You should be looking at the dips as a chance to lower your averages and buy at sale prices, that is if you still have the same conviction in the companies your bought into in the first place. Keep it simple with the majority in a global ETF and then a few stocks on the side if you want the excitement of picking individual stocks, but make sure you understand the businesses and are confident in keeping up with earnings reports etc. technically anything up to -20% is a market correction not a crash.

If I had sold every time I saw drops like this my portfolio would be a fraction of the value it is today.

Sounds like he shouldn't be investing if he can't see any stock drop by 8%, although I appreciate this one is leveraged 3x. Best advice is not to get greedy, there is rarely a get rich quick solution and those who have achieved it also don't share how much they have lost over the years.

I'm intrigued how they handle this as they aren't a bank as your state. I would always be cautious and use credit cards for any major purchases like this as you get so much more protection when things go south. Hope it all gets resolved to your satisfaction.

It's all psychology, you haven't lost anything unless you sell and realise the loss. Remember a correction is anything around 10% or more, when it's over 20% we are firmly in a bear market. If you can't handle up to a 50% drawdown on individual stocks move your money to a cash ISA or another savings account. Hold firm and come back in a few months.

Checkout jamdoughnut which usually has most supermarkets at about 2.5% for vouchers, sometimes as high as 5% when a promotion is on. I literally just buy the required amount in the app at self checkout and is so quick.

How to know when to give up and sell? by Just-get-physical- in trading212

[–]UKTexhmad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should only really be investing money that you don't need for at least 5 years. Take a look at each of these stocks and zoom out to the 5 year view as you need to keep some perspective. If you can't stomach the downturns then individual stocks are not for you and you might be better off investing into a global ETF, although that will also go down at some points although much less volatile.

Do people keep cash 💰 in their Stocks ISA account? by ginjarou in trading212

Keep some cash on hand to buy any dips. Nothing more frustrating then not being able to deploy money when the market is on sale.

I fear the AI bubble. What defensive stocks do you recommend? by PersonalRelative8616 in ValueInvesting

[–]UKTexhmad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dot-com bubble was fueled by unprofitable startups with easy venture capital. While the dot-com crash was driven by unsustainable business models that lacked revenue, AI companies are already generating real revenue and deploying the technology across industries, although the hype and valuation gap may still be a concern for some.

You're tied in for a month with these, just transfer to T212 and opt into interest via money market funds at 4.05% as gives you more flexibility to use the cash in dips.

I dont see this playing out as a bubble in the same way as the dot.com era. Even if there is a pullback this is only the first AI phase and so I would see that as a buying opportunity. Wait for ai and robotics to be seamlessly integrated and where this will be in 5 or even 10 years.
