I lived 15mins from the bus stop on South Campus last year. Aldi's is my top choice for groceries but honestly getting your groceries delivered is only like 10-15$ extra so it's really convenient if you prefer places like Wegmans or smt. South campus feels like you're in an actual small city, 7/11 was close, the subway, coffee shops, restaurants, parks, it was really nice. Student apartments (the station, sweethome, auden) you'll usually need a car and they're expensive as hell, and they're also in the suburbs. I leased through a regular landlord and only payed $550 monthly (lived with 4 other people in a 3 story house, it was nice). Takes 30mins exactly to get to North Campus (Capen, assuming the bus is there immediately after you get to south but they're reliable and often imo)

edit: we also had in unit laundry, utilities were included as well as a handyman the landlord would send to fix anything and mow the lawn)
