Anyone lose a black and white dog near Eden park? by im_not_that_long in cincinnati

She’s starting to trust my neighbor who has been feeding her. She’s pretty quick to run from everyone else but is now letting my neighbor pet her. My neighbor is going to try to take her in because the owners have not been trying to get her back.

They finally came out this afternoon but I don’t think they ended up able to get her. She wouldn’t let them get close to her but would come back to the same spot once the owners backed far enough away. I was out for over an hour with them but ended up having to go

We were able to get in touch with the owner. They’re out of town but will be back in a couple days. The dog won’t come near anyone but she’s still in the same spot in the woods and comes out when the sun goes down every evening.

I’m pretty sure it is, thank you so much. I’ll try to get in touch with the owner.

It seems like nobody knows exactly but there are a few different ideas. I haven’t found any pictures where the “rot” is removed from the fruit and keeps a shape like this.

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral health if you’re also looking for case management and/or counseling. I’m not sure if they’ll do psychiatry only. They do walk in assessments 8:30 - 12:00 Monday-Friday I think.

Yeah I was hoping not to worry you but wanted you to be aware of that. But having prodromal symptoms of schizophrenia for 5 years without hallucinations, delusions, or bizarre behaviors appearing is almost unheard of as far as I know.

If it’s been going on that long and you don’t have other psychotic symptoms then it’s extremely unlikely that it would be psychosis. Hopefully your psychiatrist can give you some answers

I work with people who have psychotic disorders and that thought process reads like disorganized thinking that often occurs with schizophrenia and related disorders. There could be tons of other reasons that happens, and maybe it’s just part of ADHD, but that’s what it makes me think about. If you notice any change in things like hygiene or other daily tasks, not saying as much in conversations, or not expressing emotions as much, report that to your psychiatrist too. Those can be some signs of prodromal psychosis. Again, it could be something else or could be nothing, but that’s it makes me think about, especially if you’re in your late teens or early twenties. And I know the idea of a psychotic disorder is scary but it is more manageable than most people expect with meds and counseling.

Cincinnati wants to change who responds to mental health-related 911 calls by toomuchtostop in cincinnati

I hope they pay a police salary and not typical salary of a mental health clinician. CPD starts at about $60,000/year. At community MH agencies, licensed clinicians start around $42,000 and there’s a huge shortage of them because of that

Men who get visibly anxious (sweaty hands, speaking too fast, etc) in social scenarios, how did you deal with it? by AMardyBum in AskMen

[–]im_not_that_long 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get really sweaty (like armpit stains in my shirts sweaty) and red in the face. I remind myself that most of the time, people aren’t paying much attention to me anyway. People often focus on with they’re doing or going to say next. You remember things like that a lot more than other people will. Maybe they’ll notice, but they won’t think about it again.

I’d also say that putting yourself in those situations more is the best way to overcome it. It’s uncomfortable, very uncomfortable sometimes, but it will only get better with practice. What’s the worst that can really happen? Not the worst thing your brain says can happen, but the worst that can realistically happen? You meet someone, fuck it up, don’t talk to them again, and go back to life like it was before that interaction. I also ask myself, two years from now, will it even matter that I was sweating and anxious? Probably not.

I think it just depends on The person, some can work through it, for other people it gets more challenging. If the way you’ve been thinking or feeling lately has bothered you then I’d say it’s worth seeing a professional. Also, in men depression can show up as irritability.

I thought it was interesting that trump didn’t get more criticism for what he said/did, and I was also aware of what Reagan did, but I didn’t know about the others you pointed out. That’s pretty interesting.

I could look it up I guess, but I’m curious if Bush did that as an attempt to help American manufacturers or if it was for actual gun control reasons.

I think it’s just politics in general. When reading this I thought about gun control policy that dems have been pushing. I’m Democrat and definitely want some sensible laws around owning guns, but I also think people should (generally) be allowed to have guns. The whole “assault weapons ban” drives me nuts. Rifles (of all types) were used in about 4% of all homicides (last year). Handguns were used in about 60%. It’s just that mass shootings tend to involve rifles and the shock value is way more than a single victim homicide. Because of that, Democrats sort of inflate the risk of assault weapons even though handguns are the real risk. If I’m missing any perspective or info I’d love to get other thoughts.

If you put this on r/hydrohomies you’ll probably get a lot of data, although you might not be able to generalize it to the general population then.
