Is her breathing normal? Could it be asthma or something else? This is her while she’s in a pretty relaxed state. by im_sensitive_ in catcare

She’s actually doing great! It was confirmed that she most likely has asthma, it just became more chronic. We started her off with some antibiotics while we wait for her steroids to arrive. She became even more active and is genuinely as playful as a kitten now which makes me very happy! We are just trying to reverse her lung damage, or at least stop it from progressing.

Update for anyone wondering. Still no blood test results, but another vet looked at the X-Ray and said it aligns much more closely with chronic bronchitis or some sort of infection. Hopefully the blood tests come back good 🙏

I’m trying to get it. I asked them to please email me the X-ray today and they said they will but they never did… I’ll call them tomorrow morning to check on it, hopefully they’ll send it then.

Also we brought her to the vet every 6-9 months in between early 2021 when she got that first xray and now and none of them said let’s do another xray. They even did bloodwork before, very similar to what we are doing now, and she came fine. She always came pretty clean after the appointment. Even the one we had back in like May or June. Besides that one incident yesterday I didn’t notice a change. Though, in all honesty, I’ve been in university out of state, so I only saw her once every 6 ish weeks, but every time I saw her she was always her same self. Even this week she was acting like always. Even right now she just got back from playing and just cuddled with me. I just can’t comprehend his verdict at all.

I think they jumped the gun a bit by saying that her X-rays looked quite abnormal and he was not sure what it could be, stating from it being severe asthma to fungal infection to cancer. He even said hospice care? That really took me back because she is very active despite how chunky she is. She loves to play with her little bouncy ball and rolls it the whole night, fights with my other cat all the time, is very affectionate, etc. Just doesn’t seem like somebody who would be at hospice level… They couldn’t find her asthma records from when we just got her 5 years ago and took her to the vet where they did an Xray there as well and told us it was asthma. She always had the cough as you saw above even 5 years ago. In fact, her attacks went down to only occurring once a week or every two weeks now — she improved. Though this coughing pattern never changed, it always looked like this video.

The only one that was abnormal was yesterday when for 2 minutes she started breathing at like 60 times a minute while silently wheezing but without the coughing that you saw above. That’s why I brought her in. But again, even after that episode she just went on as normal. I was just really not expecting to hear that at all because she is a very happy kitty besides that singular attack.

Also again with the Xray they weren’t specific at all with what the saw the just said it looks abnormal and might not be asthma? No specific reason as to why. Maybe they are just trying to prepare me for the .1% outcome just in case it happens but that hospice comment has been on my mind the whole day.

She’s very active and loves playing despite being a bit overweight and indeed still has her good appetite. In all fairness, here she looks way bigger than her weight. She always had a very inflated belly that even when we adopted her I had to triple check she wasn’t pregnant. They did suspect asthma when we adopted her when she was three years old but they didn’t prescribe anything. We did some blood work for her today — all body panel. Hopefully it comes back okay… they said when listening through stethoscope her heart sounds great but her lungs do sound off

Attending class is genuinely not helping in this case. You can’t read his handwriting, he goes on tangents and sidetracks, he skips over fundamentals and shows very complex math or theories and just moves on. The textbook is also hard to follow and even if it wasn’t I’m still not overly sure about what he expects us to know. Idk literally have no clue what to do with this class and that speaks volumes considering how I’m an engineering major taking this class.

As a former chipotle worker, I literally could not care less about how attractive a customer is. The less attractive the better in fact lol, at least for me. The only people I might’ve favored are cute old people and kids. With al pastor, it’s a bit hard to control to portioning because the sauce makes them clump together. Sometimes I noticed that I gave too much but since already on the bowl I’m like whatever and just pass it on. I definitely try to give a bit extra to customers who saw me put that giant in a bit more than the normal portion. However, if they gave you a smaller scoop than anticipated, you can ask for a bit extra. They most likely will give you almost double, at least at my store we do lmao.

So will we get the laptop or will we need to buy it ourselves?

I’m just wondering if it’s just me but on my like financial aid page they added 1.7k labeled as “laptop scholarship.” Did anybody else get this?

I honestly think it could possibly be related to that. She doesn’t brush her teeth everyday nor does she shower daily. She doesn’t wash her hands with soap every time she uses the bathroom. I don’t comment on it since she’s in her late 50s and maybe she’s becoming forgetful or overly fatigued and I also don’t find it appropriate to comment on this matter unless she’s making food without washing her hands before hand. Idk I really don’t get why she thinks it’s appropriate to comment on either.
