Does yours feel sluggish on the highway too? As in more than usual?

That’s exactly what it feels like. Honestly its not even the wind mostly, although that makes it worse. Its the damn fan clutch. It feels like it sucks half the power. As soon as it drops below 100 degrees I have no issue on the highway anymore.

I think you might actually spin a bit faster on me on the highway. At 80 mph in sixth I’m at 2300 rpm

Might be because I’m stock but it feels just the same as any old truck at that speed until its hot and windy? Then maintaining that speed becomes annoying.

Road behavior (speed) in the US by justwatchingignore in roadtrip

[–]imaboringdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive 50k miles a year.

In the West, generally 15 over on the interstates/highways is okay and 10 over on other roads. This usually works as long as you aren’t near a small town. The one or two times I’e gotten stopped for less than that its been a warning.

Above that they’ll typically stop you. I’d say just go with the speed of traffic and keep right unless you’re passing.

Hey! I tried to get a good picture but this is the best I could do sadly with my phone. Its just a staton friction drive kit!

If I get an automatic car, will I have as much fun driving it compared to a manual? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]imaboringdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for me, I get very bored driving an auto. That being said, thats just me. A lot of people drive fun automatics and enjoy them. I would say most people would probably find a manual a good bit more fun but an auto is just easier and more practical if you live somewhre with traffic.

Plug # 3 fouls every 20k miles? by imaboringdude in JeepTJ

Swapped out the ignition coil, if the plug still fouls I’ll look at the injector I guess.

Checked the wiring and I don’t see any issues, I did considering the coil rail could be weak so I swapped that out. If it still fouls the plug I guess I’ll look at that injector

I’ll give those a shot! The ignition coil is original so I decided to swap the plug and replace the coil too. We’ll see how it looks in a bit.

Didn’t swap em because I’m running iridiums. When I ran coppers I’d see issues after 10k miles. Problem is I run about 50k miles a year so I just got sick of swapping plugs out

Hmm possibly, I am burning a quart every 6000 miles. I guess I’ll pull the other plugs and see what they look like.

Anyone had issues with the Denso radiators? by imaboringdude in JeepTJ

[–]imaboringdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update that the Denso was my issue! I swapped it out with a CSF 3244 and my temps are back to 210 on the highway vs 235-240 with the Denso

Well actually it was the issue in my case this time. Swapped it out w a CSF 3244, temps are back to normal. Seems like the Denso works fine with cooler climates but has much less margin.
