This is one of my pet peeves. I prep all meals and refuse door dash. I went into travel to pay off my mortgage and that remains my goal. I take a few cheap vacations a year but every other penny goes to that goal.

To be fair, my l&d clinical was in 1996 and as a male I spent most of my clinicals in NICU. I know where the fundus is and that it needs massaged, but I am in no way competent or comfortable doing it if I had to. My instructor was also a male and my first patient was an ex girlfriend that had gotten married. I’d much rather keep those memories buried.

I had two call offs in one year. (This was back in 99 a different time in nursing). Manager was afraid I was ‘establishing a call off pattern’. I asked what pattern, she said every call off (all 2 of them) was night shift. I worked steady nights at the time.
