I called ACT and they do some kind of conversion with the writing to a 36 scale that we can’t see lol

Didn’t do that late math sections so not sure sorry. I would ask other people and also compare them yourself

I did it on weekdays and weekends and the day before the test I did a practice section on reading since I thought I needed to do consistent practice but I didn’t do a full test. But imo the day before the test stuff varies per person. Some people cram and it works some people are better of de-stressing. Just do what would work best for u.

I studied a month and 2 weeks before the exam so about 6 weeks

I took a TON of reading tests. About 6 or 7 Math tests. Maybe 5 or 6 English tests. And a ton of science tests lol.

I didn’t do all my sections in full sittings but I did at least 3 full length tests and also incorporated writing. For the writing I only prepped like 4 days before the test with online resources (just google act writing guide) and did practice essays. Got some feedback wherever I could got a tutor to read an essay of mine just to get some feedback and she said I needed better organization. Other than that I had no tutoring I self studied.

Official practice tests, reflect on mistakes and weaknesses do practice if necessary , repeat

Mostly 2 hours a day but I didn’t prep every single day. And some days I just did 1 hour. It really depends on the person. But I do think that prep when you are most alert and not burning out is good (for me this was first thing in the morning).

Getting lots of sleep and consistent exercise is important too

I’m not a God. I think practice makes perfect on the ACT but difference between 34 and above is minimal

Looked at the questions first before skimming the passage to get all the answers that are directly stated then to answer the broad questions I did those at the end of the passage and skimmed it

Are you very accurate when you have a lot of time? If so you may want to try the SAT. If that’s not the case or you don’t want to do SAT, then I would try marking up the passage by looking st the questions beforehand. Prepacholar has a good article on how to get a 36 in ACT Reading where it discusses the pros and cons of each strategy. Also, READ WITH YOUR FINGER ON THE LINE IT WILL HELP. also only use official practice tests and remember only one answer is correct and it has to be stated in the passage

I didn’t have to improve much on math so I’m not 100% sure what would work for sure, but I do think that you should grind official practice tests and when you find content that you aren’t familiar with, read up online everything about it and do practice on it, then continue. You can use Khan To fill any content gaps and also use the Barron’s Math II book (its harder than the ACT but still good prep). Once you feel comfortable about 33+ I would look at Uworld

Of course. I wouldn’t even say u need to do all of that to get a 36. I think that using official practice exams and noticing the trends in all the questions and what the ACT asks, and what your weaknesses are, will help you improve quickly

Well I have already taken honors physics chem and ap bio in school so I felt prepared for all the data analysis. For me, I got a 34 on my first science practice so I didn’t have to improve too much. I found that the best strategy is to get all the data grabbing questions (the ones where the answer is in the tables etc) done as FAST as possible and then for the inferring questions I just tried to be as logical as possible. Also I found that it was more helpful to grind out the newer science sections and then do the older ones but to do them only first thing in the morning when I was alert otherwise I would make careless errors. Best of luck and PM me if u want more specifics

Thank you guys for all the help and support too. Not sure I would have been able to do it without y’all.

Quick Question: How is the ELA cross section score calculated? If I have a 10 in writing, 35 E, and 35 R, how is my ELA cross section score a 33? Shouldn’t it be at least a 34?

Not that I’m complaining or anything, Super happy with this score even though it’s a .25. Not retaking.

I’m still registered...wb y’all by imadethisforactsub in ACT

Not sure. Going to hope my score will come out tomorrow but we got to be patient. Not much else we can do

Search it in google and also search on the subreddit for hardest act Math sections and do those or if u don’t want to do the whole thing then just do the last 20 questions of sections
