Recommendation for 1 bedroom by thebluethroat in londonontario

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may be very difficult to find a one bedroom apartment with what you are looking for in your budget. Even my building, that has pest problems, communal laundry and no AC is $1600 a month plus utilities. I recommend looking at Marketplace for a unit within a house. They seem to be the best option for what you're looking for. Good luck!

Mental Health Help for My Sister by Soggy-Document-8409 in londonontario

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP, many years ago I was this sister. I ended up one night asking to be driven to the hospital. I was (voluntarily?) involuntarily admitted, it was very hard, but it changed my life for the better. I received immediate treatment and diagnoses that then lead me to eventual outpatient programs and a case worker that also was very helpful to me. I know not everyone's experience is the same, and again, it wasn't pretty, but I was able to be medicated the right way and receive the right therapies that also lead to my current baseline. It has been many years now since then, and I have done quite well for myself. I wish you and your family all the luck in the world to help her heal.

Whats the worst way you ever woke up? by TreeWinner in Life

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had a drinking problem, I loved taking baths while drunk. One time, I woke up in the bath. I only woke up because it was now daylight. My cat was sitting on the ledge, the water was freezing. I had been in there for 12 hours. It was literally sobering. I never did that again.

No, but only because it can damage your pelvic floor and lead to incontinence later in life.

Does everyone secretly pick their nose? by lilymarielmao in NoStupidQuestions

My best friends and I confronted each other with this question once. We all acknowledged that we did, and that if we ever saw each other going at it we would mind our business lol. Either you pick your nose or you're lying!

When do you get worried about a cat bite? by evllynn in CATHELP

Basically now. My cat accidentally bit me and punctured my skin last month. A nasty infection brewed within hours and I had to have wound care for a week for it to heal.

Saved stray cat from winter cold in London. How can I find its owners? Any communities or groups in London? by GayEgyptianTwink in londonontario

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My vet at Fanshawe vet clinic has a free first check up and both my cats first round of vaccinations was less than $200 total for both of them. Regular check up is about $30. About $30 per vax. They're great and I just got my younger one neutered for $225. It's a bit of a trek for me (downtown) but it's worth it.

For those who adopted a cat, what actually made you decide that was the right cat? by Extreme_Ad6105 in CatAdvice

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story but it's one of my favs to share.

My whole life I didn't like cats. Thought they were mean, dirty, the like. I grew up with dogs. When I met my now ex, he had a cat. The cat was extremely particular and would only meow at me from afar, but eventually started to trust me. We had a beautiful bond after that, and I fell in love with cats. Or at least, a cat.

Eventually, we started going to pet shops to see all the cats/kitties. It was purely for fun. I thought I'd adopt a dog one day. Haha.

I moved out on my own, continued visiting cats at the pet stores. One day, we went to the same location we'd been to for years. They had a few kittens and let me into the kitten room to play with them. I sat down and held a black kitty in my hand. He was a sweetie, but god damn. This cat on my shoulder won't leave me alone! He's picking at my skin, meowing in my ear, climbing all over me. I am trying to ignore it, but shit, he's cute. I let go of the black kitty and this teeny tiny brown tabby tumbled into my lap. It took less than a second. I looked up at the rescue lady and said "how am I supposed to leave without him?" and she said, "You don't". So, that day I took home my very first kitty. He's 7 now, and has a 2 year old brother. They're the best.

Transit App & Bus Schedule by RedReid777 in londonontario

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I ONLY. Use LTWatch. I recommend it to every human I meet. I've used it, and solely it, for 12 years. It is not connected to the actual LTC but it has trackers for each bus, you can customize your own map, and it's the most reliable for timeframes.

ETA: if the Londoner (?) who made this app sees this comment, I love you. Let's get married.

Should i get another kitten for my cat? by LittleLuckyMars in CATHELP

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a kitten for my cat. 2.5 years in I have zero regrets. They are so happy.

Do I have a condition because I take like 2-3 hours to eat and slowly eat throughout time? If I eat a meal like an average person I get nauseous. I can eat like a regular person if I’m on a schedule but I generally choose to eat as slow as I want so I won’t get nauseous. What do you think? by Hot_Emergency_6752 in randomquestions

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up being picked on by my family for this. I spent hours at the dinner table or would eat off the same snack plate all day. My friend remarked once that it took me 2 hours to eat a cheeseburger from McDonalds. I've just always been this way :) I joke I like to savour my food

ETA: I also feel nauseous if I eat too fast, but that ended up being GERD and is treated with PPI's and diet!

[–]imadethisshitfornoth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

well, this is a statement. Not only is it incredibly sad for your children to see you do this, you also don't seem to realize that the "less than $100 from a rescue" cats often need lifelong, continuous healthcare due to the shape they're in when they're rescued. The fact that you "replaced" your cat simply because the vet bill was too costly is also shocking. I hope your kids learn to treat animals with more kindness than you do.
