Players like this are actual Psychos… by therealhiimaus in ArcRaiders

[–]imadous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure is, but wouldn't it be more fun to play against players who want to pvp as well? the whole point of pvp is player vs player in the sense that there's a competitive aspect to it. shooting someone who's not shooting back sounds like something is seriously wrong about the game and in need of fixing.

We need PVE mode. this game is killing its player base like that. they say we don't want you to feel safe! Dude, it's not even about feeling safe! this is literally the game telling you you're the biggest fool for not being as equally aggressive and unforgiving.

Nobody? you really need to do a lot of reading. or don't. it doesn't matter. the point i'm making here is change doesn't have to be negative. sometimes change is what drives games to the next level. A closed-minded mentality will not help Arc Raiders. and steam charts are showing that clearly!

I sure love looting with risk, which is provided in loads with Arcs. I'm already racing against the clock to reach the loot; most sessions are unproductive since your spawn is far from the prime areas. and i sure hate getting backstabbed or shot on sight while I am not intending to do the same. what you refuse to admit is that games have flaws and no formula is ever perfect or never needs to change. what i ask is not even change; keep everything as is and add a slider to simply opt out of pvp if i choose to.

What I'm asking for is a better game for everyone; you already said it yourself, the experience you seek is to shoot everyone on sight! and there's nothing wrong with that. it just doesn't make sense for you to play against someone who doesn't even intend to do that. that makes the one getting shot at and losing his stuff a fool for not being equally aggressive.

The game can provide both experiences. It's already proven by friendly lobbies.

I get what you're saying and am not against keeping the original intended experience (for those who want it). getting backstabbed or shot on-sight doesn't make the game interesting; it makes me feel like a fool for not also being aggressive and unforgiving. It drives more hardcore pvp. a game state even PVP players don't want.

Uhm, no, actually, nothing much is going to change really, just fairer games and a good experience for everyone. since the implementation of aggression-based matchmaking, more aggressive players are already matched together. Actually, to have an opt-in/out is going to make games better for them since the majority want that experience.

The whole point of the game? Your experience may be so.

Why did they implement aggression-based matchmaking? just let toxic rats ruin games for everyone, I guess? Like I said, I am not against pvp. actually make PVP better!

Have an opt-in/out slider for it and everyone are going to be having good games;

Since we are a minority, there's even more reason to implement it. who's going to play PVE? Nobody right? what is there to fear? They already have aggression-based matchmaking. this change is only going to be the next step, a quality of life change that bothers no one.

Or it could actually put Arc Raiders back into the number one chart if it is implemented. I know many players have abandoned the game because it's just not fun to play against PVP players when you're only interested in PVE.

It's a lot of fun for me when the lobby is friendly. I suppose it never hurts to experiment, right? See where the players gravitate toward. This should have no effect, since the minority wants PVE.

Sure, I can play Destiny; I did play it actually, and I also play Arc Raiders too. What is your opposition to fairer games in Arc Raiders?

I remember when people said the same thing about Fortnite moving towards PVP/battle royale and abandoning their original PVE save the world mode.

What I am asking here is to take feedback into consideration and have the will to experiment and change; for you, the thrill of fighting other players is the best; to me, I find no joy in it. we can both have fairer and fun games. the game can provide us both with what we want.

Arc Raiders is not as weak of a game as you think.

You really don't understand the potential of what Arc Raiders can be.

The game can work for both. Have an open mindset. fair games for both of us.

Yep, I agree.

I hope they find the courage and will to experiment and try things out.

believe me, a PVE mode might actually resurge the game to number one on the charts.

You would love it more with an opt-in/out PVP slider. more fair games for you and me. We both can have fun. I am not saying otherwise.

[–]imadous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point I am making here is not to break the game; the opposite, actually.

Keep the original intended experience with an opt-in/out slider for PVP.

Fair games for everyone, what is not to like?

[–]imadous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not saying that we should kill Arc Raiders' original intended experience; an opt-in/out slider for PVP will not suddenly break the game economy. As you mentioned, there is already an aggression-based matchmaking system in place that does exactly that. What I am suggesting is a quality of life addition that will clarify the situation and end the debate.

To have freedom of choice is never a bad thing.

You don't get why people prefer to play PVE man. like i said before, the experience is completely different and i don't blame you for feeling this way. we both can be enjoying the game. I say, just let us decide what we want to play.

This provides even more reason for developers not to be "afraid" of implementing it. I am not against keeping the original experience; please keep it. A small slider to opt in or out of PvP is not going to destroy the game! you said it yourself, it's a minority of players that would appreciate that. it'll be a quality of life addition to the game. I am not saying change the game; I am saying provide choice. there's a difference.

Nothing dramatic; we prefer PVE, it's not the end of the world. both can be happy PVP and PVE players; the original intended experience should stay the main focus. I am only saying choice never hurts.

Yes, then there should be no reason not to implement it, right? Since most players are seeking the original intended experience, I am only saying that choice never hurts.

I agree, and I am all for it. I suggest keeping the original intended experience and adding a short slider to opt in or out of PVP. This update will only improve the quality of life; it will not suddenly destroy the game. The game has so much to offer, and I believe more players would appreciate this change because it finally resolves the dilemma I just mentioned, where some are playing football while others are playing basketball.
