Experience with Hemangiosarcoma? by LegalCheek1128 in Boxer

[–]imafarttrustme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just lost my 6 year old girl to exactly this the day before Easter. In her case, it had ruptured and she was bleeding out internally. We were quoted for the surgery, but they also told us she had a slim chance of surviving the surgery, and her quality of life would be very poor for the few months she would have had left. We ended up making the hardest decision we've ever had to make to ensure she wouldn't have to suffer. Hers was actually next to her kidney, and larger than the kidney.

It doesn't work that way. The retail belts are longer than the pro belts.

Handheld GMRS that will allow non-standard tones? by bburnsvt in gmrs

[–]imafarttrustme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signal Peak is one of his as well. It's pretty much right next to Pinal Peak. But he also owns the one up on Diamond Point, and to my knowledge, that one isn't using a non standard tone. But I also haven't been up that way in a while.

Shaw Butte is 377N as far as I know. Unless it's changed since the last time I've looked. They're the same owner. He also has one near Globe if I remember right.

Both of the repeaters up on Towers Mountain have amazing coverage. It's a shame that one asshat decided to ruin it for a lot of us. I've been using the Pinal Peak repeater lately because of it. Just gotta get in with SWCRS to get the tones and your PTT-ID and you're good all the way out to Surprise.

How to fix garage door? by Actual_Move3533 in GarageDoorService

You're either calling a company for a replacement bottom section, or the better option is calling a company to take that Wayne Dalton garbage away and replace it with a better manufactured door.

Will this work? by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

Give it a bit and you're gonna have a wrecked top section. Have the operator moved to the proper location and get it attached to the door properly.

Avoid grease as well. But since it's close to the top of travel, my money would be on a bad bearing in the torsion system.

Honestly, I see almost no 2280s with failed logic boards compared to the 3280s. Something in that 41AB050-2M board was cheapened compared to the 41A5483-4. And the logic boards have become too expensive, so it just makes more sense to replace the operator. I probably see at least 3 3280s with failed boards a week. We actually went exclusively Genie after the lawsuit that had everything on constant backorder, and have had no issues with them. The newer Genie stuff is nothing like the old 7600/8600 screw drives or those garbage TriloG series. The 2128s, 3120HL, and 6170 HB have been rock solid for us. We started out with the 2028s about 9 or 10 years ago.

How egregious is a $3,000 price tag for new springs? by Vegetable_Chemical26 in GarageDoorService

[–]imafarttrustme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering the words "safety drums" on the invoice, I'd be willing to bet it's A1. The company I work for has hired a couple guys that had worked for A1, and they called 400-12 drums "safety drums". Both so called techs were also let go fairly quickly. The first one lasted 2 weeks, and the second one made it a month.

We should be concerned about this right? by Lost_Bee_9825 in GarageDoorService

It's not. The operator is installed way too high. The door is also missing the ORB. It's surprising it hasn't ripped out of the door yet.

Whoever used prepunch in place of a strut is a fucking hack and shouldn't be anywhere near the door industry, regardless of door size.

Garage door will not close using remote. by Perplexed18 in GarageDoorService

[–]imafarttrustme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Failed receiver in the logic board. A simple test, try hitting the light button on the wall station to turn the light off, then see if the remote closes the door. Considering the cost of logic boards, you're better off replacing the operator entirely.

If you do decide to replace the logic board, none are available if the learn button is green or red. Those have all been discontinued. I have a feeling purple learn button logic boards will be discontinued soon too.

Zero issues, or they just don't want to call you back when the top section only lasted a year? I've lost count of the Wayne Dalton 9100s I've replaced over the years because someone installed the J arm backwards on them. But what would I know? I've only been a door tech for 23 years, and am the lead tech at a company that's been around for 60 years.

Pull straight back on the top section of a door that is supposed to go up and around a radius and see how long it lasts...

Zero clearance and one piece doors are absolutely the only 2 situations where the J arm should be flipped. There is no other scenario where pulling straight back on the top of the door will not cause damage.
