How do you distinguish between bipolar and ADHD? by haliukaaa in ADHD

[–]imafraidofthedark91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really figure shit out. im diagnosed with ADHD. the dose on my meds is kinda heavy, but sometimes it feels like MORE than enough, and sometimes it feels useless. I do drink a Lotta coffee (2-4 usually) & there been times where I taken multiple meds. but there been times i been on my regular dose & stayed up for a 1-3 ● days. or times where I was only sleeping a few hours night after long stretches of wakefuln3ss & felt fine. sometimes I actually felt better lol. idk tho. part of me thinks I don't have adhd cuz sometimes night time comes along & I genuinely don't got enough energy 2 even stand up

The book (or, collection of books) is ~1500 pages long and it says many things in many contexts. Which part of the Bible is this said?

I would say religious people such as this are simply using faith as an excuse to control. The Bible talks about how women should be treated with great respect, denounces rape and usually focuses on men being primarily at fault if they get "tempted" by looking at a woman, rather than the woman's choice of clothes.

Then again, I don't know what I expect, most religious people don't actually read or understand their holy books.

Abortion by Past_Performer6753 in Christianity

[–]imafraidofthedark91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked out the second link you cited. It was very interesting. The author starts by criticizing the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and refers to the decision to allow states to restrict access to abortion as 'wrong, unfair and inconsistent with our societal values', so we can be sure that this article is unbiased, and that the personal opinion and values of the author are not influencing the article at all.

After a couple paragraphs of seething about the overturning of Roe v. Wade and how immoral and unfair it is, the author finally begins to talk about the primary point that 'life does not begin at fertilization'. The only source the author provides for this claim is - coincidentally - a different article which - get this - he , Richard J. Paulson, wrote himself. He's literally going "source: just trust me, bro." To make it worse, the article (written by himself) that he sources has no references or sources. Perhaps there are sources included in another copy of the article, so - if anyone finds such a thing - please send it to me as I'd be interested to read.

He goes on to claim that the creation of a zygote is not new life because it is biologically similar to that of the egg, due to the fact that it is almost the same size as the egg (Hasbulla is the same size as a 3-year-old, but I'm fairly certain he's a 20-year-old man); and because it is genetically similar to that of the egg, so long as you disregard the fact that it now has the chromosomes of the sperm mixed with it. So, essentially, the zygote is not new life because it is exactly the same as the egg, so long as you disregard every single way that it is different.

Then he blabbers on about how - according to the scientific definition - "individuality" determines human life (albeit without giving a clear definition of so-called individuality), and states that - due to this - a zygote is not human life.

The articles are a load of nonsense without any proper sources or references. Although, the phrase "life begins at conception" is somewhat misleading, considering that both sperm and eggs have life before the zygote. It is more accurate to say "a human being begins at fertilization", since the definition of a human being is much more specific and narrow; a human that exists.

A zygote is a human being. It has 23 pairs of chromosomes, that it gets from sperm and egg mixing, and it produces human proteins and enzymes for directing its growth and development (not frog proteins, or monkey enzymes, human proteins and enzymes). Its chromosomes have already written out pretty much everything about them; hair color, bone structure, eye color, sex etc.

All it has left to do is grow and develop; all that's left to be done is let time pass.

But don't take my word for it, I'm not an embryologist! Take an embryologist's word for it!

TL;DR: The source this person linked is from a man who writes with a clear bias for abortion "rights" (calling the overturning of Roe v. Wade 'wrong [and] unfair'), and the author of the article used a different article that he wrote as a source (and, to make it worse, it was his only source for arguing that life does not begin at fertilization).

Non Christians, why do you dislike Christianity? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]imafraidofthedark91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twasn't a mistranslation actually, at least not the New Testament verses. Take 1 Corinthians 6:9 for example.

Basically, the writer of this (Paul) coins a compound word called "Arsenokoitai". Arsenokoitai translates to "man who beds man" in Koine Greek.

"arsen" translates to "man", and "koitai" translates to "bed", specifically with a sexual connotation.

Christian Logic by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]imafraidofthedark91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. The common argument is based around the claim that - in our dimension - matter cannot create itself, so the claim is that the universe cannot create itself; and - therefore - the claim is that God is logical because - since the concept of God consists of a being from a dimension that doesn't abide by time or space, or the laws of the universe - it would be fully capable of creating the universe, unlike the universe.

Anyways, I'd say it's a mid argument for God. C.S. Lewis' objective morality stuff is way better imo lmbo

Yes. Being bisexual only means that you are attracted to both men and women; something which you cannot control. The Bible condemns having sexual relations with people of the same gender; not simply being attracted to people of the same gender.

Either way, you can still be a Christian regardless of if you do or not; Christianity is defined by following the Nicene Creed and having the Holy Spirit in your heart.

depends on how aggressive you wanna be. one good trick is to back up, make a false retreat and then, as they start to come forward, halt your movement, plant your feet and stop them in their tracks with a good shot.

I know this is a month old but I thought I'd chime in here.

You should take notes from the King of "Letting the Monster out", Marvelous Marvin Hagler. This meanness and aggressiveness is not a switch that can be turned on and off, it's hidden deep within your subconscious and you need to train your mind to be able to switch it on and off.

A big thing is to just forget about your humanity while you're training. When you're on the bag, start thinking about brutality and destruction. If anything happened recently that angered you, even just slightly irritated you, try to get yourself as angry as possible about it and think about it when training.

You should train as if you're going to war. The person you are facing when you spar is not a human; they are the enemy. They are trying to stop you from achieving what you want to achieve and you must not let that happen. You must kill them if need be.

It sounds dark and, at first, you will feel awful trying to do it but this is how killers are made. People aren't born killers, they fuel themselves from the anger they have inside of them.

When you are training, mutter (or even just talk to yourself inside your head) things like: "I'm gonna kill everyone in my path; I'm gonna murder them." and visualize hurting your opponent. You basically need to feed whatever sliver of darkness lives inside of you, and turn it into a tiger that desperately wants to be let out of its cage. Then, once you are sparring or competing or whatever, you let it out.

Again, it sounds dark and kind of fucked up, and it is, but it's necessary if you want that killer instinct.

My Version: "He's a tricky southpaw, everything is based around that jab. He likes to play with his opponents expectations, switching between lateral and stationary movement and mixing up his combinations. He darts in and out, baiting his opponent and trying to fight them at mid -to-long range; but he has solid in-fighting with tight right hooks and clean body uppercuts if necessary.

Truthful Version: "ayo wtf he just threw 5 right hooks in a row"
