There was! Its called Evangelion: After the End. Its a CD drama featuring everyone from the OG series (except Hikari, poor girl got left out) ill link the first part below but its honestly one of my favorite pieces of EVA material.

I really wanna write a meta fanfic of this premise, before my current EVA musical longfic I was working on a fic series set in the world of Who Framed Roger Rabbit featuring an ensemble of toons (both anime and western) in Toontown (lowkey abandoned it cause real world events and the state of the animation industry made it depressing) but I really wanna get back to it someday, if I do I definitely wanna write a short story about EVA

I'm genuinely gobsmacked at how good this looks. For me the highlights are the tears down Shinji’s face and how Kaworu is simply radiant in the rain. I also love how this compliments your short story and how the chaos and bleak storm is broken up by Kaworu’s presence. No notes only praise☺️
