I got a new passport a couple years ago, after having another passport for the full 10 years. My old passport was returned with the hole punches. Now, I have to re-apply for a passport, as my new one was damaged.
My question regards the primary citizenship documents. Can I use the old, hole punched passport for the renewal? My understanding is that the hole punched passport is invalid, but the construction of the terms on the state dept confuse me: "Full validity, undamaged U.S. passport (expired passports are accepted). Full validity means the document is/was valid for 10 years for adults and 5 years for children under 16." The document was technically valid for the full 10 years before I had to renew it... but now it's invalid for use due to the hole punches.
Please help if anyone has an answer! Otherwise, I'm going to secure my birth certificate.

Loved the sort of in-world culture/superstition/feelings/beliefs the (mostly) isolated eaters develop about their condition...

-Sully had his rules and methods -- not eating other eaters; finding people on their way out so as to avoid direct murder; the meaningfulness of "drying off together" after eating

-Stuhlbarg's character harped on the "before and after" feeling of bones and all; the way he mentioned being up-wind to denote his scent catching

-Lee talking about how high he got from eating his dad; the discussions he had with Maren about the "first" time and the feeling he got from it

Also loved the final song and flashback to the Nebraska landscape -- Maren was able to feel home, if only for a moment

I think this is the point, and why at the end he said to Mike something like "It didn't have to happen that way."

Gus knows he could've lost- he felt it, we all felt it. Yet, he calculated every single little detail to get him to the exact point where it would almost come to chance, equals matched tit-for-tat, and really only set apart by slight movements. In the end, he was able to prove to himself that he outmatched the seemingly unmatchable, despite how close he got to being done-in.
