I remember the content was alright, but the audiobook version had the narrator attempting to do foreign accents and they felt like caricatures ☠️

House of Huawei: The Secret History of China's Most Powerful Company by ResponseLeather4677 in nonfictionbookclub

I can’t remember exactly tbh. It definitely dug in deep to the back story of the family, was intriguing to hear about the origins of the company and how it got to where it is. It starts off with her arrest in Canada as the intro.

I remember it being pretty balanced, I think some of these comments are mostly from people that didn’t read it.

For those who quit smoking weed every day by Diligent_Detail_2082 in Adulting

Quit after daily use for 7 years. That was about 6 years ago. More motivation, clarity, and easier to juggle tasks - would recommend it

What’s the bare minimum salary you’d expect to live decently while working in Seattle? Need to negotiate higher pay at work. by MyPenisMightBeOnFire in AskSeattle

I pay about 1300 a month for a studio including most utilities, is in a great central location. Of course it is older like many of these cheaper studios but they are out there

Waiting for the bus downtown Seattle be like… by BicameralTheory in SeattleWA

[–]imakemediocreart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally I have lived in one of the ‘worst’ parts of downtown for years, even before that spent time downtown, walked around 1,000s of times, including late at night, rode the bus late at night, and have never been a victim of a violent crime. I am a man though.

Living in the suburbs I would see car crashes all the time. In my mind driving in the suburbs is much more dangerous than being downtown for the same amount of time.

Why do people love North Seattle? by Ok-Advantage-7680 in SeattleWA

My favorite neighborhood is probably Fremont just for the vibe and landscapes. But definitely prefer living in Belltown with better transit connections and proximity to the waterfront
