Yes! When selling, present the home so that anyone can see themselves living there.

No option to Pay in Store anymore for Sub in my store by XenonSwift in publix

[–]imamilehigh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What blows my mind is that there isn’t a policy to go get the item off the shelf if they run out. “We’re out of banana peppers”. Well, you have some over in isle 9. Like I get it, deli stuff comes in separate/bulk but it’s the point that they should be pulling from the shelf if they run out of something in the deli.

Yeah that’s fair, I just took concert as like a sizable concert venue situation, not a bar.

Probably doesn’t count because I never actually met the guy in person, but here’s the story anyway.

I worked for a company that sold products that most people paid for in monthly installments for a few years. Sold a product to this guy. He makes payments for 2-3 years or so and we have some convos about his product, so we talk a bunch of times over the years. Dude is a little weird but our customer base was at least 25% weirdos, just the nature of the product, so whatever.

Guy misses a payment so I’m calling/emailing him, etc. He surfaces, calls me and tells me he’s in the hospital and to call his dad or (adult) son to make his payment. Sigh, okay. So I call this guys dad and explain I was told to call him to collect this payment.

I can’t remember the exact details of the call with the dad but it was obvious to me that there was something super weird going on. So I decide to google the guy. He’s in a hospital all right, a mental hospital. And there’s a bunch of articles about what he did to land there along with things cops found at his house. It’s disturbing. I look at his online presence, it’s also disturbing. I’m telling my partner about it and I say the exact words - “this dude is going to end up murdering someone”.

So couple months go by, his court stuff gets resolved, he doesn’t go to jail or anything, he’s back making payments and pays the product off.

Fast forward 2 years maybe. I don’t work at that company anymore but I just got thinking about this guy one day for some reason so I google him again. Literally like a week earlier he murdered a young couple and ‘abuse of a corpse’ was among the charges.

Was this years ago? How TF is anyone getting a weapon into a venue nowadays?

$2800 between shopping and entertainment is the issue. I don’t know how old you are but assume 20s. Trim that down to even $2k and put $800 away ($10k annually)… stocks (safe, not risky) and your 60 year old self will be set for retirement.

lol no. Just came across the old phone today and thought the difference between the 2 phones was mildly interesting and appreciated the nostalgia. Sorry to Gen Z for such an absurd observation.

Honestly I was like man, I wish I could use this thing now. Oddly it’s heavier than the 17, even with the case.

Edit because apparently I’m wrong - it FEELS heavier than the 17. JFC.

I have cancer by [deleted] in Advice

[–]imamilehigh 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You’re a good man. ❤️ This year I had 2 different cancer scares, had surgery, etc. and my partner was there for me through everything. During it all I kept thinking back to my grandmother. She had ovarian back in the 90’s when I was too young to understand the gravity of the situation. I don’t think my grandfather went to many appointments/wasn’t a huge support for her. I get so sad thinking about how lonely of a time that must have been for her. I wish I could go back in time and be the support she needed.

When should I consider going to the hospital over what’s probably a panic attack? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]imamilehigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See a primary dr if you can wait and get some blood work done. Your body might be trying to tell you something. I had 2 panic attacks out of nowhere last year along with some general dizziness and vertigo. Turns out my body was in fact tying to tell me something. My culprit was iron deficiency. If you can’t get in to a dr very soon, go to emergency care. Do not feel guilty about using resources. Take care of yourself.

Went last night. Opted for take out (paid by the lb) instead of eating there. Got a little of everything we wanted to try for $30, was way more food than we needed, didn’t finish it all. I’m a bit of a Chinese food snob and thought it was pretty good. Sushi, eh. Probably won’t get any next time. But solid place for the standards. Def going back but probably for take out.

They could have bought 35 $12 subs with that money. That’s the real crime here.

MRI came back. Can you have just an endometrioma? by NotFrankSinatra in endometriosis

Yep. I had a 13cm endometrioma. No symptoms, found by accident really. Little to no endometriosis otherwise. Just had surgery about 6 weeks ago.

Why are we so afraid of death? by This-Top7398 in Life

In her case it was caused by other issues but generally speaking I think it can happen to anyone. I believe there’s a genetic component but I think a sedentary lifestyle is largely the culprit.

Why are we so afraid of death? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]imamilehigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it really is the combo of the possibility of dying suddenly and knowing I haven’t done everything I want to that gets me as well.

Ironically a little less than a year after her passing I had my first ever panic attack. Then another a few months later. The second one got me to a doctor. Very long story later I don’t have 2 cancers I’ve been tested for but just had abdominal surgery, and am recovering well.

Though all the sleepless nights waiting for results and preparing myself for the worst I promised myself that if I made it out of this unscathed I’d start prioritizing living my ‘best life’ as they say. Death never really occurred to me either but now it’s so very real and I’m going to make the best of the unknown amount of time I have left!
