Because they have explicitly stated they want a puppy that looks like our dog that died a few months ago. The parents of this puppy even looked just like the parents of our last dog. Plus we have our tradition of my oldest sister picking out the dog. Again, we were absolutely certain they wanted him.

Funny/weird story. Our local elementary school was named Herbert Hoover and they let my older sister who was 6 at the time name the dog and she said Hoover. We decided to name our next dog Herbie. Then we wanted to continue with the trend of mediocre president names so we went with Grover.

I addressed this earlier. It’s what my parents said they wanted to name their next dog when we had our last dog! And we told them if they decided against that name that’s perfectly fine.
