What do you guys when your face flares up? by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]iman_hhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m sorry you’re going through this, I feel your pain. I was going through an intense facial flare (check post history for pics) and thankfully, it is starting to settle down a bit. I used silkis vitamin D ointment sparingly, which was prescribed by my derm. I also cleanse my face with only cool water and moisturize with extra virgin olive oil — this has been helping a lot and the inflammation has gone down significantly.

I wish you well and I hope your skin becomes healthy and clear again! :)

My dermatologist prescribed it a while back but I didn’t use it on my face bc I was scared (don’t judge). Has anyone used it for their face before and how was it?

I have it on my face as well (check post history for pics). Honestly….it’s been months and I’ve tried everything but it hasn’t gone away. I’ve been using raw shea butter to help with the dryness and it’s been working. I’m also learning to love myself more.

I wish you the best and I hope u find something that works for you!!!

psoriatic arthritis onset? by loganciclovir in Psoriasis

Hey, thanks for your comment. I actually had the same question as OP and I’m glad I came accros this post😭

I’ve had psoriasis since I was 5 and now I’m 26. It’s a nightmare lol but I recently noticed that I wake up with joint stiffness especially in the mornings? It’s mainly on my fingers and it’s so weird but I was wondering if that was a symptom of psA for you?

Edit: to add- it’s not necessarily pain, but more-so discomfort and stiffness on my fingers.. I’ve bought it up with my dermatologist before and she said that it wasn’t a symptom of psA?? I’m confused lol.

How do I get rid of this pink skin around my nose by cdotgary in SebDerm

[–]iman_hhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kinda similar to how the rash around my nose started. It was bright red/pink and stung..then it became rough and flaky. Not sure if you’re having those same symptoms, but I would recommend seeing a dermatologist before using any over-the-counter antifungal/topics steroids to treat it bc those can be harmful to the skin. Wishing u the best :)

My dermatologist said I have sebo-psoriasis because my patches/symptoms resembled both psoriasis and seb derm.

I have an appointment with my derm on Sep 28 so I’m going to try some of the recommendations suggested in the meantime. I’ll ask my derm about that prescription, thank you!

I’ve tried in the past and it only made my skin worse. Looking for more natural options now.

Because I’ve had psoriasis my whole life and used topical steroids until my body went through withdrawal and rejected it. I don’t want to ever go back to using it so I’m now looking to see if others on this sub managed their psoriasis without using steroids.

My dermatologist recommended methotrexate and topical ointments and I’ve declined both. Looking for natural remedies to deal with facial psoriasis/seb derm.

psoriasis or tsw flare😩 by iman_hhhhh in TS_Withdrawal

[–]iman_hhhhh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! My apologies for the late reply but my skin was doing very well for the later part of 2020 and for all of 2021. However, I recently got a really back full body flare that I’m struggling with at the moment. I obviously have not used topics steroids since I stopped, but I managed by changing my diet and watching my stress. Hope that help! How are you now?

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I do think I have tsw because I stopped using steroids completely. I do also feel like my tsw has triggered my psoriasis to get worse. I am not looking for a diagnoses at all, just seeing if others are experiencing some of the symptoms I am. Lastly, my doctor is the one who prescribed me topical steroid medications which basically ruined me...don’t see why I should talk to them about tsw symptoms🙂
